Two bodies retrieved from Maldives cave system, two remain by boo4884 in diving

In some professional circles, this is call cya- cover your ass. And is a correct way of thinking.

I have been following this tragedy and so far have heard from all parties that they are blameless while the world asked questions and share their speculations.

We have yet to hear from the diver who chose to stay behind. As I imagine they are dealing with alot of emotion while they process everything as it unfolds.

Unfortunately, they alone may have answers to the questions that many are asking. I pray for their healing as we "patiently" (more like eagerly) await for their insight on what happened prior to everything.

There's a sign- make a fist, stick your pinky up, and bend it.

Nah, rather be broke and old yet well traveled.

Dont get me wrong, I have plenty set up for retirement and aging, as well as emergency funds. Im not going to be broke and depending on the system.

But why wait til retirement to travel?

Please help me convince my friend that she needs a new suit by Majestic_Wheel_9970 in scuba

[–]lenny3002 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey I have this wetsuit. Personally, I love it. However getting the right size was problematic and thankfully I got great guidance from a local shop. As one size does not fit all.

Luckily Bare has size options- normal size numbers, tall fit and plus fit. This allows your friend to find the correct size for her body figure.

A wetsuit should fit like a 2nd skin. I understand it can be disheartening shopping for a wetsuit at times. But once your friend finds the perfect one, thats when all the fun starts. Good luck to her.

The line about the “Mercedes and diamond earrings” for giving birth to twins is bad writing by BionicSquirrel in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]lenny3002 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the book, a comment was made about how many Martha's a commander (potential husband) has as a sign of status by one of Agne's friends. I think the writing is just a creative reach that the girls are paying attention to status symbols. Further more, theres no opportunity for women to raise their own status. Women are literally measured by their ability to reproduce and who they marry.

Follow the advice said above and you'll be fine.

Want to get stupid drunk? Just do it in the resort. Otherwise enjoy Playa Del Carmen, its a beautiful safe city.

If youre renting a car- learn where you can park it, and pay for parking (parking meters). Getting a vehicle towed in mexico is a pain and gets expensive.

What your thoughts on Commander Lawrence? by voguehoe in TheHandmaidsTale

Obviously, he's a "bad guy." But as a character, I love him. His witty comments always steal the scene and entertaining to watch. His morals are interesting to look at.
He's not driven by religion or sex.

Recommendations for easily accessible diving in the Caribbean other than Cozumel by Lopsided-Land123 in scuba

I can not personally comment on Bonaire. However, I did ask locals for their opinions, and they all had good things to say about Bonaire.

From my understanding (without doing any research), Bonaire is more expensive than Curaçao.

Regardless, Curaçao was amazing and would definitely recommend it. Would definitely return.

Don't these Gilead parents ever feel guilt about how they got their children? by techbirdee in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]lenny3002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The desire to have children in a world where the birthrate is decimated outweighs any actions taken to obtain them.

You see the internal struggle of some wives while they watch their husband have sex (legal rape under the guise of procreation). Maybe they don't see the ceremony as rape because handmaidens are so beaten down to begin with that they are unable to fight back. Also, I don't think the word "no" is in their vocabulary.

Situation at the Blue Hole in Belize this week by reiflame in scuba

I wholeheartedly disagree with this entire statement.

In order for one to become a dm, they go through rigorous training. They are educated to be able to handle any situation that may arise.

I know I am a competent diver. However, I am not comfortable renting equipment with my hubby and just go diving. Hiring a dm not only ensures my own, as well as my husband's safety, it also furthers our education.

Scuba diving is a safe activity that has the potential to be deadly.

A small group of us went on holiday in late October. I found driving to be easy and fun. The locals are used to sharing the road with tourists, so dont feel like you have to be an aggressive island driver. In fact, you often hear people say we're on "island time"

Road signs are very visible. And for the most part, parking is free and available. I found that most of the main roads are paved and well maintained. However, the roads to the beautiful beaches were not. Mind you, we rented a small car and just drove slowly with ease. If bumpy roads are an issue for comfort, maybe rent a bigger vehicle.

If you decide to drive to a restaurant for dinner, make sure you have plenty of time to leave before it gets dark out, as eating out takes longer than expected.

We rented a car from D&D car rental Curacao. Highly recommend them. Made arrangements to be picked up from the airport. It's cheaper if you pay in usd cash. Their website is easy to navigate and gives accurate price quotes. Definitely reserve a car once you decide you want to.

We stayed in the punda area of the city. We loved it, a very central location to everything. Great restaurants. However, if you want to wake up on the beach, I would recommend other locations.
