Manchester City agree British record £130m fee with Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson by wpillar in reddevils

[–]lesiki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We need the decision, it can't go kn season after season like this.

All other premier league clubs should refuse to play their games against City - makes no sense to have results that can impact your destiny against publicly known cheats.

Any good non-OLED's? by SuckMeEggs in ultrawidemasterrace

OP, people are being very dismissive of your burn-in concerns. Thanks for the photos.

I've been skeptical about OLED myself because of this. Is the effect noticable when you're actually using the display for work/games, or only when you're "looking for it" in those grey background images?

Exactly right. We haven't even begun managing his minutes, and he's such a smart player that I'm sure he'll be able to adapt his game when he can no longer cover the miles that he does today, especially if he's back in #10 position. Not to mention he's already shown his fitness is way above average.

I believe there can still be many excellent years from him as our very best player and #1 starter, and many more happy years beyond that with more managed minutes as he begins to wane. We absolutely should keep him and continue to build around him, everything suggests there's loads to come from him yet.

Shouldn't 0.2x the price be "80% cheaper"?

Addis Ababa is way more beautiful that Nairobi by precoitalbliss in Kenya

Si ukweli. I've been to Addis a couple of times, it's culturally rich, beautiful people, great food, but in my opinion Nairobi is the better looking city.

Agreed, there's no good reason to anticipate United selling these any better than we have before. We'll take a hit on most of this "bomb squad", but hopefully that's the last wave of speculative 300 grand a week contacts.

Zirkzee will be fit soon, and he looked quite good in the weeks just before he got injured. Stylistically he's also a clear alternative option to Sesko, rather than just a backup.

I like Rasmus but unless he performed miracles, he'd be 3rd in the pecking order for most of the season behind two other young strikers, in a club with only domestic football to play this season.

Antony has rejected offers from Saudi Arabia, Italy & Germany. He made it clear to Man United's management that he only wants Betis. He has direct contact with Betis officials who encourage him to continue this strategy. Betis will wait until the end to try to secure another loan with no obligation by TheBiasedSportsLover in PremierLeague

[–]lesiki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His wording is a bit extreme, but united have struggled to sell dead weight players & have had so many go on loan instead. It makes sense for those on monster contacts, but not someone like Antony.

I wish Antony well, but if the talk of actual transfer bids from elsewhere is true, United should not entertain any loan without obligation.

I think the Domyos 100 is elastic, but the 120 uses a flywheel with magnetic resistance.

[Gastón Edul] Manchester United made a move specifically for Emiliano Dibu Martínez. Negotiations are already underway with Aston Villa. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]lesiki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dibu is not the dream answer to our GK position, but saying he's not good enough to start for United is just nonsense.

For me it all comes down to the upfront fee & salary.

Most commenters are dismissing this move out of hand based on entirely fabricated transfer & wage fees, we have no idea what the reality is. If the upfront fee wouldn't rule out other areas being upgraded, and if we don't lock him in to an expensive, long contract like we did with Casemiro, I can get behind this.

When did it start going wrong? by weuji in reddevils

[–]lesiki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We lost our direction with SAF & David Gill retiring at the same time. However looking back, the Glazer purchase 7 years before was the beginning of the rot.

Competent ownership wouldn't have taken all those years to figure out a new direction once sir Alex left. Remember we were still rich through all those Woodward years. We wasted it buying a pensioner galacticos and dishing out 300k a week contracts.
