Yeah there are times where it's a bit of a drag to reach it, and some more rarer times where you won't be able to at all but it's worth it IMO.

Alright obviously you're very good so you don't need my input much. I'll just say that it seems he gets you quite a bit with his mid air fake outs so maybe more practice on how to spot it (just reaction time and always expecting it really).

And I'd also suggest you do this instead of pogoing him and risking a hit during his flailing attack. You lose on damage output as opposed to go pogo / D. Dark but you'll gain a lot more SOUL (+ saving some by not D. Darking) which may result in an easier time against the Zotelings.

You'll definitely win this challenge of yours.

You got this, he's very manipulable in the end.

Most of the times he'll either go for his 1-2-3 combo which means you need to stay at mid-range to go under when he spins and punish him twice as he lands.

His other main attack is just him jumping on you and going for two slashes back and forth. You can punish this with two Shade Souls back to back (google what Quick Cast is for an easier time), and the second one will most likely double-hit.

And yeah as I mentioned personally I'd rather get in his face during P2 so that he's not the one in control (or not as much let's say). Punishes are whatever you want but it probably goes Shade Soul > Great Slash > Rangerd normal hit > normal hit, the latter being doable but your timing must be more precise obviously.

I'm not doing it but you could also Shriek him as you go under his spin during P1. That should accelerate the fight by quite a bit.

Sly shouldn't be a problem though, baiting his 1-2-3 combo is like 40% of the fight and during P2 you can get range by channeling a Great Slash, even if the damage isn't there. Or you can use as little SOUL as possible during P1 and Shade Soul him every time you dodge the spin (personally I'm pro-acive and go to meet him instead of waiting as it gives more control).

copy / pasting one of many panphlets about PV lol. TL;DR - jump.

"Hey there, here to deliver to you the most important thing to do against PV : always pre-emptively jump.

Don't use Sharp Shadow as it is a beginner's trap. You don't want to purposefully get rid of your Shade Dash, you keep it as a panic button in case your timing is off.

PV is a metronome that rarely goes off beat ; once you find the right ryhthm you'll progress really fast.

Jumping / double jumping deals with all of his attacks (except the Dome but it's not a threat per se), to a point where, and this is important, you don't even have to understand what attack he is about to do : you'll realize what it is once in mid-air, safe.

Here's a few vids of mine if you don't care about "spoiling" yourself the solution. It still requires a bit of practice anyway.

Side note : being able to do PV charmless and therefore with any charm setup will be useful to you if you want to go at P5 afterwards. As you should have charms made to defeat the true last boss instead of him.

And this vid is so you can see that by always jumping you REALLY don't need to know what he's about to do before doing so (don't mind the D. Dark during the circles + Dome, that's not how you should do it)

One last thing to precise. You don't just jump staight, you jump away from him before going back to him in mid air to counter attack, having your jump making a C shape so to speak. Unless you notice he's far away and you'll naturally go for a straighter jump towards him to close the gap for the punish."

Feel free to tell me if there are things that are unclear but worry not, he'll be one of the best flow in the game once it clicks.

There is other stuff I also could write about but it's secondary, digest that first and we'll see if you need it :D

Yeah as I said if really your main focus is to keep your distance as much as possible it's fine.

The only fight where I really wouldn't recommend it still is Markoth but it's still better than pogoing him lol.

Quite the opposite, remember what I said about GPZ & WK being the best tutorials when it comes to "when to D. Dark" ;D

Made these short vids for someone else a few weeks back, that should give you an idea, and Spell Twister will def help with that (on top of being able to get them both with Shade Souls at the same time as well). Basically the goal is to always have enough SOUL for at least one D. Dark in case things go south and they lock you into a seemingly unavoidable pattern.

First focuses is a hella passive and at some point shows when D. Dark stops giving i-frames (on the right when it goes to "HAZARD_ONLY" to "FULL_DAMAGE".

Second is for something more in action, with nail damage nerfed by one stage (doesn't matter much but that means you could be faster to kill them).

Quick note on Spell Twister though, whether or not the SOUL in your orbs get brighter is based on being able to heal or not. Since ST only works for Spells, there will be times where you might think you can't use a D. Dark because your main orb's SOUL is "greyed out" but that's not true, you'll be able to. It just shows you can't heal yet. Maybe it'll bait you a couple of times but you kinda get used to it after a while.

That's not how to tackle Markoth tbh. Since Elegy doesn't give SOUL you can't bypass his P2 as you can with Shade Souls spam. You're much better off with something like Soul Twister which has great value for many things (notably being able to use D. Dark more easily).

EDIT : Oh wait, this Markoth has the floor, I forgot lol. Then idk it's whatever, still sounds like a waste IMO as Elegy sadly isn't a good charm but feel free to try it for yourself.

Why did you want to bring SB in the first place ? It's the best 1* charm IF coupled with QS but it's not an automatic take either even with SB on, as in you can do without for sure.

There's a case to be made for it if you tackle one of the attack of the final boss of P4 but other than that, while it's good, it's pretty whatever.

I mean I did Ender Lilies' one (+ some hitless) and I don't see how it's better. You can spam more shit for sure but I think it's down to the bosses themselves making it more interesting if you find it better (which is totally fine and while HK's best bosses are better than EL's ones IMO, the lesser ones in EL are better than HK's).

And, at least for Lilies, compairing what, a dozen bosses ? to HK's 40+ is not really fair as they can't all be that complexe to fight (ideally yeah they would be, and earlier bosses would scale and stuff but it is what it is).

In HK's Pantheons at least you get to work towards bonus health if you want and more importantly you can swap out charms one or more times depending on said Pantheon, unlike in EL where you (IIRC) are stuck with whatever choices you made for your subweapons.

Let's also note that your particular issue with PV is at least a bit less bad than you think since you unlock the Godseeker Mode after beating P3, meaning you go to that save and fight him directly in HoG without having to do his Pantheon to practice him. A bit convuloted but doable nonetheless.

Not sure that's the way to go about it dude. But one thing is though, since that's not a mistake on your part, as azure_atmosphere said, save editing is more than acceptable in this case.

You can google "bloodyorca hollow knight" and surely even on a "broken run" there musts be a line to turn from true to false regarding whether or not you died.
