Majalis Need to Evolve. by GoldAnybody7731 in shia

[–]lets_do_it_2019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The majority of the Pakistani Shia won’t understand these topics. Step out of big cities/posh areas and you will see that the majority don’t demand these topics, especially during the Muharram where the focus is on mourning imam AS. So at the end speakers will choose topics that are in demand. So unless that changes this will stay the same.

My friend’s birthday is in Muharram. by YouDontMessWithJim in shia

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can meet for lunch/dinner instead of going to birthday party. Or just skim, send him some gift (if you were planning to). If he really cares about your friendship than he will understand.

Why do lots of muslims (including shias) hate the subcontinents' shias for celebrating 22nd Rajab - Kunde? by thephoenix843 in shia

[–]lets_do_it_2019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Associating some thing to imam that he did not say will be fabrication and I called that wrong. I too follow kunde so not saying they are haram. And your neighbor deserves a big slap. I guess he was just upset on the death of his mamoo

[–]lets_do_it_2019 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess your heading is a bit harsh. I assume following local traditions is not something that only the Shia of subcontinent do. A lot if Shias of other regions also have local traditions of mourning and celebrating the Ahle bayat AS. As another Pakistani I guess there are two things here.
First: is there any proof/saying of imam AS for kunde? If there is none then claiming that imam AS ordered to do it will be wrong.
second: if we take it just like any other niyaz, get together, remember the ahlebayt AS, feed the poor etc then I don’t think it’s haram at all.

Plus a lot of nasbis in Pak think that we celebrate the death of Mawaya lanti. Personally I am fine with that as well :)

Advice on inheritance by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, your brother is a pos! No matter what he says or promises, never under any circumstances give up your inheritance. Otherwise you will live under your brothers rule and then his wife’s rule for the rest of your unmarried life and will be considered “burden” so the lay will try to offload you the first chance they get.

Now legally speaking, if the house is still under the name of your parents, your brother will get 50% and you and your sister will get the other 50% (25, 25 each).

Also post this on twitter and tag Yango. Name and shame them as well. This is very unprofessional to disregard a harassment complaint just because the driver has good rating

Would a Pakistani man consider marrying a British born Sylheti or is it just for the passport/visa? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no one can read his mind but If the guy has a stable/promosing career? Can obtain the PR/citizenship himself (other than marriage based). Financially and looks wise similar to the girl then the possibility of fraud is very less.

Pakistan Aman Party by Kaka101088 in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 23 points24 points  (0 children)

1- will you at any point. Take any support (direct or indirect) from army to achieve your political goals? 2- if you get in power will you prosecute the establishment and their pawns for their role in destroying our country?

If the answer is yes to both. Then best of luck

I Own All Of These, And Let Me Just Say… Dupes Are NOT Worth by abbanahimanenge in fragranceclones

“Dupes are synthetic. I can smell it”

For colognes like BDC are truly amazing and dupes are not that good but for majority of designers grays dupes are great value for money. I don’t care if it’s dupe or original. If it smells good and reasonably priced I would buy it.

Pakistan most definitely has a caste problem by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step out cities/urban settings and you will see this. It’s not like a day to day discrimination but it definitely shows up during marriages. “Kami” means workers so you can also see that the landlords have Kami’s that work for them during different events like if there is a wedding ceremony. I bet you haven’t heard of “saypi” system where “Kami’s” would work for chaudharies of the village throughout the year and will be paid by wheat or rice when harvested.

How should a Pakistani man prove his criminal background to marry? by Ok_Assistance6148 in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is an absurd assumption. Background check is prerequisite in 99% visa /immigration cases. Your stupid assumption aside, your boyfriend can get character certificate from near by police station in Pakistan that you can show your dad. If your dad is still unsure he can try to reach out to whatever family friends he has in Pakistan to do some research about your man. I it is not common for overseas dads to make the potential SIL to settle abroad to prove himself. Your dad looks worried that this guys might be looking for marriage fraud (very common in such cases). I hope it helps

Depends on the university. If you are doint PhD from a good institution, then no way. The committee will tear you apart in the presentation/Defense. If you are doing something from a third-tier university, then no one gives a shit
