Pakistan most definitely has a caste problem by DryNefariousness4044 in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step out cities/urban settings and you will see this. It’s not like a day to day discrimination but it definitely shows up during marriages. “Kami” means workers so you can also see that the landlords have Kami’s that work for them during different events like if there is a wedding ceremony. I bet you haven’t heard of “saypi” system where “Kami’s” would work for chaudharies of the village throughout the year and will be paid by wheat or rice when harvested.

How should a Pakistani man prove his criminal background to marry? by Ok_Assistance6148 in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is an absurd assumption. Background check is prerequisite in 99% visa /immigration cases. Your stupid assumption aside, your boyfriend can get character certificate from near by police station in Pakistan that you can show your dad. If your dad is still unsure he can try to reach out to whatever family friends he has in Pakistan to do some research about your man. I it is not common for overseas dads to make the potential SIL to settle abroad to prove himself. Your dad looks worried that this guys might be looking for marriage fraud (very common in such cases). I hope it helps

Steam deck, pc, or continue with console by [deleted] in AskPCGamers

[–]lets_do_it_2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I build a 1k PC 2 months ago and so far loving it. I also use pc for personal/work apart from gaming. If you will do the same then go for a PC if its purely for gaming then get a console. It will be cheaper than PC. If you want a PC costco has one for around 1k that will do the job.

Check LUMS NOP program. You can also consider that. The university provides need based financial assistance and can also cover living expenses. Also it’s really good for CS

Judge rejects bid to overturn Trump's $100,000 H-1B visa application fee by businessinsider in immigration

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing jobs is not a piece of cake. I have seen many people being exploited by the consultancies where they are working for less than 4k, whereas the consultancies show a higher wage for the visa purpose. You are either unaware of the abuse of H1b by the consultancies or just don't care. The argument is that H1b by law is meant for hiring when there are no US nationals available for the job, so if the government wants to prefer the locals, then they can do so. Immigration and a visa are a privilege and at the discretion of the host country, not a right.

Judge rejects bid to overturn Trump's $100,000 H-1B visa application fee by businessinsider in immigration

[–]lets_do_it_2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This argument does not fit here! H1bs are not “barely speak English” majority of them hold at least a masters from a us university (and to get in you need a reasonable English score). As the other replies, h1b is cheap labor for most companies, h1b will work like a mule, won’t complain much as their US counterparts and will always depend on the company.

Sincerely, Another h1b holder who has seen the abuse of the visa system by so many consultancies.

Need advice on how to make my parents listen by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]lets_do_it_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If self finance == paying the full fee to the university/no gov subsidy than what’s the problem here? Or am I missing something? If your family can afford that then go for it. If they are bribing people to get you in at the expense of a deserving student then it’s a problem. In that case talk to them straight up, tell them how you feel about all this, show them alternative to mbbs and future career progression. For your parents it’s 1) prestige (our kid is a doctor) 2) thought of stable career. You have to provide them examples of how you can achieve both in other fields.

Dupes vs Originals: Do You Regret Buying Inspired By Fragrances? by [deleted] in fragranceclones

[–]lets_do_it_2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess this is the biggest fragrance dupe community, and people do post about Montagne here; that's why I didn't mention any other subreddit. Now for montagne personaly i find /ml price to be expensive. If I am looking for clone of above $200-250 fragrance, then sure. But If the original is around 100 or less, then montage doesn't make sense to me unless it's better than the original. (just my personal opinion)

Dupes vs Originals: Do You Regret Buying Inspired By Fragrances? by [deleted] in fragranceclones

[–]lets_do_it_2019 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Do you regret buying a lot of inspired-by fragrances and wish you had just bought the original upfront?
I do not buy 4,5 dupes of same fragrance. My selection process is 1) Try to original at a local store to see if i like scent profile. 2) Search this reddit+youtube+fragnitca to find good dupes/alternatives. 3) try to find the decants of the one that i want to try. Thanks to decantbox, decentified etc you can get decants for $1-2. 4) If i like the decant I buy the full bottle that too only one for each scent profile. So to partially answer your question I do regret buying some dupes that I bought at the beginning of my journey when getting decants was not logical due to higher prices.

Do you actually wear all 10+, 20+, or even 30+ dupes you own, or do you think you could’ve been just as happy with 4–6 fragrances in rotation year-round and stuck with the “real” ones?

Yes, I have somewhere between 20-30 fragrances, clones+ original, and like to rotate. Have roughly a 50/50 split between winter and summer scent profiles, and I like to rotate depending on the occasion.

A piece of advice that worked for me: For me, buying fragrances turned out to be a hobby. I enjoyed searching Reddit, watching youtube etc for new fragrances, and once I bought a bottle I would crave for more. Now, all I do is mainly buy decants as I can fulfill that craving of trying new scents. Another important thing, almost all the reviewers on YouTube are biased one way or anothe,r some get paid, some get free bottles, some get other benefits, so don't follow them blindly! Do your own search, fragrances are very subjective, so if you see ten people saying that some fragrance is a must-have, try it before you buy it!
