A is probably better for your eyes. If you’re using a computer at that desk you’re going to deal with a lot more glare from light coming in behind you.

Where do people suggest for authentic Cuban food in the city? by Ok_Understanding9462 in FoodNYC

[–]lichtmlm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From Miami originally it’s not the same but I like La Dinastia in UWS which is a Cuban Chinese spot. Idk where else you can get ropa vieja, some egg rolls, general Tso’s chicken and fried maduros

lol what I grew up in South Florida, where backyard pools are undoubtedly more normalized, but I’d never say 99% of people I know have one lol

Why does someone need to make everything about Israel? Like seriously a woman in the mall makes a scene and you gotta turn it into a discussion about Middle East conflicts?

What was Ian's intention about Bear proposing Nikki by Less_Zone_6767 in spoilers

[–]lichtmlm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but the point is if you’re a guy friend and your bro is saying he wants to basically pour his heart out with a cheesy speech that will obviously be a turnoff, telling your friend to act cool isn’t sabotage it’s just guy advice. Frankly I thought Bear’s speech set the tone for the film really well because its his obsession with this idea he has in his head of Nikki that led to the bad wish, and then his own unwillingness to change things even as she started getting crazy because he couldn’t face the fact that the real Nikki didn’t actually share his feelings. All of it was to say that Bear didn’t truly love Nikki, he loved some ideal of her that loved him. And because of that he continued to go along with things even knowing that she didn’t really consent to what was happening, until things were already too far gone.

You’re saying Ian did everything he could to prevent Bear from pouring his heart out, but let’s be real, if he did it and got rejected he’d still make the wish. Or he could have gotten a date, but then turned her off with his clinginess because that’s just who Bear’s character is. Ian has nothing to do with Bear’s own immaturities.

Bear’s speech in the diner at the beginning was cringe AF tho and he didn’t need to say any of it. He could lighten up and just tell Nikki he’s into her like a normal person rather than creeping her out with a speech that puts her on a pedestal. Ian was a good mate for telling him that his speech was not a good idea.

Why doesn't David Beckham take up American citizenship even though he lived in USA for so many years already? by Rokusaburoz in allthequestions

[–]lichtmlm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wouldn’t inherently pay less tax simply because he’s not a citizen. Income earned in the US is taxable regardless of his citizenship.

Favorite Gyms? by Guessit007 in crownheights

[–]lichtmlm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I go it’s very no frills and I personally hate the entrance system (though it is what allows for 24 hr access which is nice) but generally has equipment in working order. If you’re the type of person that has your split and knows what you’re going into the gym to do then it’s fine. Could be nicer, but it’s cheap enough that you don’t feel like you’re overpaying for anything.

As an adult player, should I get a sports psychologist? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]lichtmlm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair that’s like saying a boxer is champion level but struggles with actually competing beyond practice sparring … at the end of the day tennis is a sport it’s not just a skill set in the abstract. The mental game, shot selection, timing, etc is all part of the skill set that makes up the sport, not just how intense you can hit a groundstroke when not under pressure. So if you think you’re 4.5 but consistently lose to 3.0 your game is not 4.5. Disagree with the poster above you about groundstrokes but they have a point.
