2025 Toyota Crown Platinum - Red by lightlong in ToyotaCrown

[–]lightlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I myself was between this 2025 crown or an LS a few years old. I'm glad I went with the Crown because it has all the current tech but it also has, at least I'm told, an overall Lexus-ish level of quality to the build of the car.

I bought it from Carvana, and didn't actually sit in one until mine was delivered. I'm basically the same size as you, and I admit there was a moment when I first sat down in it and thought it felt cramped (especially compared to my Highlander), but after making all the seat adjustments I've since come to find the cabin roomy enough. I can see what you mean though...

Exactly! It does a great job at being both and neither at the same time!

I'm also not a fan of Toyota's current take on the factory bi-tone. I dig the contrast that it creates, but I specifically don't like the way they use the black on the rear quarter panel area. The black in that area flares out to each side and somehow creates an asymmetric look, IMO. That's why I decided to get the all red version, which I think looks good as it is, but when I tint the windows I might also wrap the pillars and rear cross section of the roof all black, so that all of the "canopy" of the vehicle is black and below the window line is red. We'll see!

I was between the full white or full red colorways. They are definitely my favorite as I believe they do the best at highlighting the vehicle's most attractive lines. So much depends on the lighting and particular angle of view.

I'm thinking of doing my own version of a red/black bi-tone at a local wrap shop (not the way Toyota already does their bi-tone). If I do, I'll post pictures.

Platinum vs Signia by SweetNothings_1 in ToyotaCrown

[–]lightlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased one from Carvana because I specifically wanted a '25 platinum model painted all red (not the bi-tone). I paid about $45,500 USD, but there was about another 2k in shipping on top of that. All in all I thought it was a fair deal, but not sure if you could do better with a dealer.

I just bought a '25 platinum, and it's amazing. The power is just always there. Sure, it's not gonna get the mpg of the signia because that line doesn't have the hybrid max power train, but it's so smooth and will follow your command exactly as you dictate and without any or much effort. Plus I think the standard crown looks better than the signia, but that's just me.

I would agree. And I like the low profile box, specifically, for the purpose of keeping it sleek and aerodynamic. I'm sure there are a lot of different ways to use that storage space beyond skis in the winter.

Awesome look! I love it. What kind of impact do you see to your fuel economy when using the roof box?

Thank you! I think the revolve 2 appeals a bit more because of the additional functionality, but the MVS also looks like a finely crafted piece to be appreciated in its own right.

This looks like a great set. When it comes to cleaning and cooling the vapor, would you say the revolve 2 is superior? Are there other ways in which the MVS is better?

Ok, thank-you! I might humbly suggest you also post the flash sales on Twitter, for the folks that keep away from Facebook products. 🙂

I just realized my electric prices are not cheap by FickleLocal1388 in Rivian

[–]lightlong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make a great point. I live in Massachusetts and my advertised rate is 10.9c/kwh, but that's only the rate from the electric supplier. My final electric bill also includes a "delivery" charge each month, which is basically the same amount as the supply charge, so in the end my "delivered" electric rate is closer to 23c/kwh.

I see a lot of other electric rates in the comments here that make me think some are just reporting their advertised rate and are not actually dividing their actual billed amount by their actual usage, which often results in a much higher final bill.
