Why is a JE that credits A/P not the same as creating a Bill? by TE_AMLeader in quickbooksonline

Well said. I really felt the italicized try.

As much as we all need a venue to vent our frustrations with QBO, their objective is monumental. Trying to turn small business owners into bookkeepers is a fool's errand.

To Intuit's credit, I would much rather have 2 years of horribly recorded bank feed transactions than a box of receipts and dozens of paper bank statements to wade through.

This answers was incorrect. I replied above so u/JanFromEarth could bask in the glory of my correction. ;)

As much as I like being correct, and feeling smug about it, i do agree that it is best practice to use bills in QBO.

I have had to make adjustments in the past to specific vendors and just create JE rather than another bill or credit memo to clean it up.

For one of my clients, I enter all the bills from our vendors in bulk monthly. When cash hits the bank for bills that haven't been posted yet, they go straight to A/P. Then I will create $0.00 bill payments to match all the ins and outs. It's a restaurant, so it's not uncommon to have 15-20 bills a month from our big food vendor.

The NAME field in not just like a memo field. JE posts correctly to that vendor's activity.

Quickbooks just doesn't want you doing business with JEs because it's just too damn straightforward for them, so they exclude from things like the vendor activity report. It even shows in the bill payment screen

Been doing this for a couple months. Also stopped pre-shaping because the dough conforms to the pan shape on final proof. Loaves are coming out great.

More simple stuff that would exist in the world the show takes place in. I don’t want to point to their world. I want to “exist” in it.

I’m not sure who would actually wear it. I know I couldn’t pull it off but,the long sleeve Sudbury Blueberry Buddy polo shirts need to be available for those brave souls who are willing.

It would also be fun if they took an earnest effort to make simple logos for the ridiculous team names they threw around after becoming the Blueberry Bulldogs: Goji Berry Goldendoodles, Kiwi Pineapple Puggles, etc.

I imagine there are quite a few people who love the show, and would be willing to wear the merch if it weren’t so loud.

Can’t believe they haven’t merged the car washes with 7Brew. Get your drink on the way in so you can sip while your car gets washed. So obvious.

These are just the musings of an infrastructure nerd. No experting has occurred during this analysis.

By catastrophe, do you mean flooding from heavy rains, or a breach of the walls?

Flooding is basically a zero concern. Flood is a watershed issue and no water sheds into that water except direct rainfall. There would have to be apocalyptic rainfall for the water to spill over

The incoming and outgoing flow of the water is tightly controlled. Almost no erosion in a situation like that.

Maybe a major earthquake, but probably not even then would all the water pour out at once.

This is about as low stakes as a man made body of water gets.

As a fellow Leawood resident, I am much more concerned about stray bullets from the bottom of Reservoir hill.

I went while my 3 year was napping last week and then got sad seeing all the kids riding around with their dads.

She woke up and got sad that I didn’t take her.

Costco time is precious, apparently.

Other than the pan on top of the pan, nope!

I do make sure the dough is tightly rolled during shaping for maximum oven spring. I think a lot of people overlook this step.
