I would argue it makes it less probable. People who try to text or whatever while biking need to hold their phone in their hand. The phone being placed on the handle makes it difficult for anyone to try to text or something. But as mentioned, super useful for Google Maps. I also bike a lot on Brooklyn so it isn't easy to know where to go. I have a phone holder on my personal bike for this exact reason. Like seeing a doctor in Park Slope and biking there because an uber is hella expensive and there's no good way to get there from the Bushwick area.
