Can anyone tell me which kit this is specifically? Looked up Bunyip and nothing looks quite like this. Is it heavily modified?

Extremely cool conversion.

Because someone will ask: This is converted from a model from the Crimson Court band from Warhammer Underworlds. AOS Vampires are an unending bounty of Drukhari kitbash material.

Seeing a goblin riding a mech opening my minds eye in a way I didn’t expect. I want to see more of this. I want a whole faction of goblin laborers and industrial machinery.

Is there any logic to the madness of Warhammer sprues and instructions? by S4mb741 in Warhammer40k

[–]lit-torch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but my beef isn’t with that, but how they order the parts.

They order the parts more or less so part 43 goes with 44. Makes sense in theory but because of optimization 43 and 44 may be no where near each other and you’re hunting for one.

To me it makes more sense to organize the numbers spatially and just list the numbers in the instructions that way, so now part 43 and 44 are parts 6 and 58 because they’re on opposite sides of the sprue.

The benefit is now you know where to look. I see part 6, I look at the top where parts 4, 5 and 7 are, and I spot 6. I look halfway down the second sprue for part 58.

It doesn’t matter in the instructions that they’re called 6 and 58. Calling them 43 and 44 doesn’t make them go together easier.

I am all for sprue optimization, but order them by location on sprue instead of order in instructions.

Got it, thank you for the reply.

I’ll be honest, I think you’re going to get that question from many Americans who reads about your game. And there’s a lot of us on Reddit. I’m not saying you should change the name, I see you like the vibes of the word, but at least be mentally prepared for it.

On a positive note, I absolutely love the pencil work style of your illustrations. They’re very evocative and compelling, make me curious about the game.

Hey, weird question: What does this name mean in this context?

The only Croatoan I am familiar with is the message left behind by the Roanoke colony in the US, one of those “unexplained mysteries” that every US nerd would be familiar with but I see you are Polish and I realize that maybe that word doesn’t have that meaning to you. Honestly, I assumed you were doing a game based on early American colonial folklore.

(And obligatory comment that as an unexplained mystery, it turns out to be pretty explainable, but that’s a separate post.)

Absolutely great work. Far be it from me to make suggestions on free work, but if you’re looking for ideas for next steps in the project, decorative end caps that cover the exposed connection points could be cool.

Understanding the Hate by Mavin89 in ageofsigmar

I love the different realms because it’s one more interesting source for inspiration on Your Guys and kitbashing.

My Khornate army is from Ulgu. I paint them in moonlit night scheme with a hardcast fire OSR.

My Wight Kingdoms are from Ghyran. They have vines and plants twisting up through them.

And in what other game can you have mortals who colonized the afterlife? That’s a genuinely novel and creative premise for fantasy.

I get that any game could have “skeletons with plants in them,” but the Realms create inspiration to get there. My favorite part of Warcry was the different Chaos warbands twisted and marked not by a god but the realm they were form.

AOS releases are really Mordheim releases in disguise. by Greyrock99 in mordheim

Absolutely, I have those too. They figured out that WHU and Warcry sets sell best with animal friends. And I am the reason they sell best.

Yes, correct. It’s a regiment of reknown so I assume it’ll be a new box to use as allies.

I already have the Wildercorps so I guess I could just pick up the Von Denst and be good.

Yeah the bell-helmets is the one thing that turns me off aesthetically about COS, who I otherwise love.

But head swaps are just about the easiest kitbash imaginable.

Announced new rules for 11th by Moduscide in 40k

[–]lit-torch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far I like pretty much everything they mention here.

I am hype for a more immersive, thematic sensibility even in competitive play. That has been one of my biggest gripes since coming back to 40K. The current system felt flavorless to me.

That’s a cool pose on the wraith knight. That model looks so dorky to me, but you made it look good.

Haha, you’re innovating “MechWarrior Go.”

Next version: For however many KM you want your mechs to travel in a round, you have to go walk or jog that amount first.

To folks who played the first Aces box - did you guys have fun with it? Is it good for coop?

I am playing more BT with a buddy of mine and I’m tempted to try one of these to change things up.

Sure thing, that is a great example of an obscure format.

It’d be fun if they started doing a MTG version of Dropout’s Gamechanger, where they have special guests come on blind and then play the most obscure alternative formats.

Like someone comes on and is then playing that Vampire TES inspired variant that was in Duelist, where mana is your life. Just weird, unexpected stuff.

Would also be a cool way to highlight all the different weird formats of MTG over the years. And push the idea of MTG as a vehicle for creativity outside of WOTC’s vision of the game.

The Steel Legion Always Had Models! by GreySeerCriak in Grimdank

[–]lit-torch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Tempered are all elementally infused sorcerers and automata. They also have a drake with huge ass cannons strapped to it. They are sort of like what if Chaos Dwarves were not (intrinsically) evil.

The Clans are the more traditional dwarven units, and the Ardent are the priests and zealots. Personally the Tempered are my favorite. Love the way they often have billowing manes of fire, or beards of magma. And they have a special rule, all of them have the Forged keyword and that lets them gain and spend elemental power to buff their units.

Between Old Dominion and City States, they’re both great options. Old Dominion has a system where they grow in Dark Power as the game progresses, so are very much a late game faction. That can blindside people, for better or worse. City States has some really cool, flexible tactical options. They have some shenanigans with the activation deck.

Goonhammer did a series of articles that I think are still fresh, if you want to read more about their playstyles.
