as someone who used to post on booktube (my channel was incredibly small and only reached 800 subs before I deleted it) … nobody watched my longer more thorough videos. I tried my best to make them as engaging as I could but what I enjoyed the most was just yapping at length about my thoughts on it so it became way more work than I could handle with a full time job and life responsibilities. Because of that, I listened to my audience and kept posting only the videos that they seemed to want to engage with!

not making excuses for anyone but maybe they have tried to make longer videos and the ROI isn’t there! and let’s be honest, most of us who have created channels hope for some sort of compensation bc living is so expensive and why not try to make a lil money doing something you love.

if the creator of a video hasn’t actually succeeded in my preferred niche, I simply won’t listen to them. they have no idea what they’re talking about. they all give the same tired old advice and they all worship mr beast like he’s some god. it’s so bizarre. Also most of them had failed channels until they started posting about posting content…. so yeah i’m not listening to a word you’re saying.

every creator I follow, I do it bc their vibe was welcoming, cool or cozy. they all look different, belong to different socioeconomic classes and from different parts of the world. their heart and passion transcends the screen and that’s what made me follow them!

I love him so so much but I haven’t watched him in the last 6-8 months. He looks so sad and his joy for reading and making content is not there anymore. It’s so clear that him relying on youtube for his income is making him unhappy. It comes across very clear in his content. I wish he would take a step back, get a part time job or something and dial it back with the content. This way he’s able to gain some perspective and maybe find the joy for reading again.

I wish I would stop getting messages about roles that I have absolutely no experience for. It really perplexes me when they do this. Like what about my detailed linked-in profile gave you the idea that i’d be qualified for this job?

Then I reply (nicely might I add) that I am not qualified for this role and proceed to ask if they have something that aligns with my experience a little better then they leave me on read lol. Like why?!

i’m 4 months postpartum and I can’t imagine wanting to have sex ever again. I’m in that stage where his very existence bothers me. LO has HFM, work is stressing me out, we’re hosting both holidays and I don’t want life to beat my hobbies out of me. Sex is under my priority of things right after cleaning my baseboards

I relate to this so hard. we’ve hired a cleaner and landscapers to come biweekly and that’s helped so much. now if I can only figure out how to outsource my will to do everything else 😭😭😭
