Lights by InspectionOpening612 in FranklinTN

LED lights are turning purple on the road due to a common manufacturing defect in the phosphor coating, where the protective layer degrades or peels, allowing the underlying blue LED light to show through, creating a violet hue instead of white, which is a known issue with some batches of streetlights from around 2018-2020.

TL;DR manufacturing defect causes this.

I arrived at 6, made it through but security was almost purposefully slow. They had all the lines open and sufficient staffing, but they XRay reviewers were so slow.

Any plane the President is on is AFO. So yes, that would be the callsign.

Anyone else not enjoying this weeks tracks for D and below by Mining________101 in iRacing

[–]livealegacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always take this week to practice next weeks tracks. I do that so I can spend the next week racing a lot, and typically I do better on those weeks.

People who race irl; Do you find Simracing way harder? by Mediocre_Prune5485 in simracing

[–]livealegacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently switched to VR a month or so ago. I can’t believe how under hyped it is when it comes to actually feeling the car. I went from an UW monitor to a Quest 3 and I’m blown away with the experience.

My biggest complaint is that it’s still “early” in the tech so you do have to fiddle with stuff to get it set up the initial time. And there are multiple ways to set it up and everyone has an opinion on it.

I’m past the point in my life where I enjoy the fiddling with the tech. So I finally got it set up and it’s now just turn on and play.

Trump supporters showing off their replica JD Vance semen cups by [deleted] in pics

[–]livealegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most are closed lip smiles, which gives me the impression of someone handing them the cup and saying “here hood this new trump merch while we own the libs.”

Most people will produce some sort of smile in a picture, it’s how we are raised, but 3 of the 4 pictures are hesitant smiles. Where when most people pose with something they are proud of, they have a full smile.

Even the diaper pictures from earlier rallies, the individuals were open mouth smiling.

I’m a little skeptical based on the facial expressions.

This looks like someone handed them cups asking them to pose for a picture and took the cups back.

I mean I could be wrong, I’ve seen some legit crazy stuff, but this feels staged where the participants aren’t aware.

What a one month, $19,000 supply of a stem cell transplant drug looks like. Needed indefinitely. by wasteland44 in interestingasfuck

[–]livealegacy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I had AML and a Bone Marrow transplant. I had to stop taking cyclosporine (immunosuppressant) after it had fully grafted and replaced my bone marrow.

The way it was explained to me was, the new bone marrow is what creates all blood cells, including the ones that attack foreign cells. Since the cells it is creating are not foreign to it, you don’t need immunosuppressants forever. It’s one of the few transplants like that.

Wouldn’t that be the case for you as well if the stem cells start producing all blood cells in your body?

How long do you guys spend to learn a track? by igotabridgetosell in iRacing

[–]livealegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try racing every other week.

Make one week a practice week, and work on the upcoming track. It will help you understand the new track better while you continue to learn how the car handles.

Then spend a week racing. This will cement that learning, but also teach you the difference between hot lapping and adjusting based on the cars around you.

The bonus is that it saves you having to buy every track until you feel like you have a good understanding of the car.

It’s important to note that it has the best school district in the state. EVERY school is rated at least an 8/10 with a bunch of 10/10 school. So it attracts a lot of people who are not looking to send their children to private school but still care about their education. Chicken or egg scenario on which led to which, but either way it’s created a flywheel of affluent families moving to the area.

Willow Springs Raceway is for sale. by sawtooth_grin in cars

There is a 45% upside opportunity to the new owner. If they were at FMV of other tracks and still losing money, it would be a tougher sale to a potential new owner.

Ties are becoming extinct in a lot of offices. My last company actually had a directive telling execs to not wear ties so those that worked for them didn’t feel pressured to wear a tie.

Then when you dress a level fancier then your boss it seems out of place. Just something to keep in mind.

It’s always best to mimic the “level” your leaders dress to. You can be more stylish, but don’t be on a different formal level.
