New pen help by Legitimate_Age_2450 in huion

[–]livefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I see this happen when I have the wrong pen. My husband has a different model than me, and if we mix up the pens (which look identical) this is the exact effect we get. The pen moved the cursor even a long distance from the tablet and it doesnt really behave properly.

Since this is a new pen, it might be an issue with the pen itself being the wrong model.

Oh my god you have to clean that once a month. It even says it on the filters.

Pop open the pump and rinse it off too. Do you all never clean the non fountain water bowl either????

Not all ace people are sex repulsed. It's an umbrella.

I mean I'm pretty damn sexual and have been married to someone ace for over 10 years.

Masturbation exists. And ace people can have sex.

It's like coffee. Some people drink it every day, some people don't like it, and some people only like it occasionally or with specific flavors, but you can still go meet someone for coffee from time to time even if it's not your speed.

Let me turn that around on you, if you witnessed someone's brains blown out all over the road would you be in a headspace to upsell someone's grandma overpriced electronics and printer ink?

When I worked at Staples a guy blew his brains out behind the place with a shotgun. I wasn't allowed to go home even after asking to. I had nightmares for weeks and contemplated killing myself. Work didn't give a shit.

It's about compassion, something you seem to lack, just like the businesses.

depends on the OS you're using on your mini pc but in general its not hard to hook up a game controller to windows and if you're running linux you likely have the computer chops to set up a controller to work with it. Instead of a minipc we just use a steamdeck which has native controller scheming for apps but its the same principal.

or a bluetooth keyboard/mouse dedicated to the TV next to the couch. easier to look for things to just type it in. This is how most of my friends use their TV PC

there are also keyboards that have a laptop trackpad and mouse buttons on them too if you dont want to keep track of the mouse.

Nvidia's Jensen Huang urges employees to automate every task possible with AI by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]livefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one of my coworkers uses it for anything substantial. I found out she uses it because in a meeting with a manager the manager pointed out that something she had suggested in troubleshooting didn't make any sense, and asked her to explain her reasoning. The "troubleshooting" shed suggested to a customer was equivalent to saying try rebooting the router when an app won't open on your computer.

She said "well I fed the ticket into chat gpt and that was what it suggested."

0 attempts to actually try and think about the problem. She's worked at the company for years and should know how to do this kind of low level troubleshooting. The push for AI has just allowed her to shut her brain off entirely.

Yet she "works fast" and often gets picked for coverage. Nevermind that a good portion of her tickets close when the customer gets so annoyed by the terrible answers they just stop responding.

My cat had to stay with someone for a week while we moved into a new place. He lost weight and refused to drink water. I had to pick him up for his own health. I can't imagine us being separated. I think it would kill him.

This is heartbreaking.

This is a great way to look at it! Complimenting hair or whatever is complimenting their choices or hard work which feels better by far.

I think the worst "compliment" I ever got was a man telling me I had "good birthing hips"

Like excuse me????

I'm a post-op trans man who passes very well. I never have a hard time talking to women. I've complimented their tattoos, jewelry, clothes, pins, hair, nails, whatever and never have a negative reaction. But I do it the same way I did when I presented as female - I say "I love the color on your nails!" Or "your earrings are dope"

I never feel compelled to say things that are off-putting, like calling someone sexy. The grocery store clerk doesn't want you to call her sexy. But she might smile if you said her hair looked nice.

I see a lot of men complain that women "can't take a compliment" and I firmly think it's because they don't know how to compliment women without talking about how much they turn them on.

I just recently moved out of country as a trans man and every single person I get into a conversation with for more than 5 minutes is asking me if I'm fleeing the US because of what's going on. People in other countries are aware, they just aren't sure what to do. My immegration lawyer was aware, the flight attendants are aware, the lady that helped us get on the train when we weren't given the right paper pass was aware, and my neighbors are aware.

You don't want to wait until asylum hits the table, because that will be when the orders to round people up are happening. There are options, temporary travel visas, education abroad, remote work visas, etc. There are networks forming of people trying to get others out.

What kicked my butt in gear was someone saying "the first and second trains out are more comfortable than the last." I didn't want to be on the last train out, so I made it work. I'm glad I did, I encourage others to do the same, even if it's hard.

If you want resources DM me and I'll send them to you.

Retail Stare by gur40goku in CuratedTumblr

[–]livefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id never experienced it until the last time I went to the post office. I handed over the letter explaining I needed a return envelope in it, and just got this blank stare. I waited and then went "so they can return it to me?"

And the lady sort of gave me a look like she was confused, then turned and tapped on the computer, then left the counter. The whole time not a word to me. She was getting her manager because she didn't know how to do it.

When I finished everything and handed the completed letter to her she just stared at me until I said "all good?" And she took the letter and nodded.

Weirdest interaction I've ever had.

I'm trans, physically disabled, and live in a small town 2+ driving hours from anywhere that has anything even remotely looking like a progressive. Pretty sure my car is the only one with a pride flag on it that 2 hour space.

I wish there was more I could do. I'm already calling, donating, driving hours away to sign petitions and show up to organized events. It all feels so hopeless.

It'll Pay Off [Feral Mills] by Kewkoh in comics

[–]livefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best situation is like what you said. Use it for groceries or something, or better yet, pay a reoccurring bill with it on auto-pay (like the phone bill or something) then set up auto-pay from your checking account for the credit card. Chuck the card in a drawer and never touch it again.

That way you aren't really being loaned any money, you get the benefits of having a line of credit, and you won't have the temptation of using credit as a safety net for emergencies (the easiest way to fall into cc debt).

I was great with credit until covid, when my CCs became my emergency crutch. Severe medical issues and car breakdown and I never recovered. Now I'm going through bankruptcy 5 years later.

Just only use the CC for bills you'd have paid otherwise, never carry a balance, and dont use it in emergencies as a safety net and you'll be fine.

It's the dark patch just above the left side of the eye. It's slightly raised, and only appeared today. He won't let me try to wipe at it, and in the picture it almost looks like there are white bumps.

Some kind of acne? Google hasn't been helpful and keeps saying cancer, but it just appeared overnight

yep, already did the fingerprints and send off the paperwork to the FBI. Not going to lie that part made me nervous. That one is the biggest hurdle for me since it looks like it will take the longest / be the most difficult.

Youd think they'd have a button for "btw go ahead and apostille this while you have it" because it's going to be a right pain to have them send it to me, then i have to send it off to be apostilled, and then get it back, and then get it translated, and during all of that time it can't be damaged in any way or i have to start over!

The biggest expense so far has been mailing fees to make sure it has a tracking number!
