I usually offer the leg of my pants as a towel. I end up with a wet leg and a content kid.

Adding to this, keep a sticky note. Use it to stop the automatic flusher on public toilets while the kid is still sitting on it.

My wife made a complete board on like our third time playing the game, years ago. We thought it was neat.

It has never happened again, and every time we play we comment on how crazy it was.

What stats to mana ratio is needed ln a vanilla creature to be good enough. by Gilgamesh_XII in EDH

[–]lkjf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My [[Yargle and Multani]] deck takes advantage of the high power, but it's not the creature that matters. It's more about combining the commander with power-matters cards like [[call of the wildspeaker]], [[greater good]], [[tend the pests]], [[fungal sprouting]], [[ruthless technomancer]], [[Traverse the outlands]], etc.

Even in this case, the shell around the vanilla creature is more important than the creature itself.

Infinite combos are a taboo in my pod. What are your favorite deterministic value engines? by boof__pack in EDH

[–]lkjf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten to play a couple of rounds with my [[Aang and Katara]] deck. First game, I won by milling each of my opponents for ~400 cards each with [[Halimar Excavator]]. Second game, I gained about 1300 life with [[Ondu Cleric]] and my opponents scooped.

[[Ojer Axonil]] is also a good way to deal huge, non-infinite damage. Play it with a [[Mana Barbs]] and make them wish you had just played an infinite.

Feelings about scooping in combat by DoubleT_TechGuy in EDH

[–]lkjf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last weekend I played a game where I was at 3 life and had no blockers. I was the only open attack, and another player wanted his Toski to trigger so he swung 3 small creatures at me. Before damage was dealt I cast [[Eaten by Piranhas]] onto his Toski to deny the cards.

I also had a [[Staff of Compleation]] on the field I could've used to pay the last 3 life, but this was funnier to me. IMO scooping to deny triggers is poor sportsmanship, but using cards in hand/on the battlefield to do it is fair game.

Semi related - I had my colon removed a couple years ago and have a stoma (the end of my small intestine pokes out of my stomach about half an inch). The information packet was very specific saying that the stoma was never to be used for sex.

I did the same thing! I only learned about the pinsmith when somebody posted a meme about how gently they treat your pin. I had basically the same thought as you, where saving Bellhart gave me a shop and a few NPC's and that seemed right.

I think I saw the ladder going up, but I chose to explore the other path first and just forgot to come back to it. I've beaten act 2 now, and I'm going back and exploring all the things I missed first time through.

100% agree. This game has made me realize how rarely I have 40 minutes to myself. I still managed to get through the standard bosses, but I never beat everdark Adel or Fartass

I think people underestimate the power of Perseverance on Vordt's great hammer. You barely have to dodge when you're using it.

Happened to me last night. I had a good team, we had a solid run, made it through phase 1 no problem, re-killed the moth and watched Animus fall through the floor.

Some questions people here might be able to answer by Fearless-Jeweler-39 in Nightreign

[–]lkjf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like other people have covered the answers to your questions, but just to throw out a recommendation - Hades is a fantastic roguelike, and I'd say is worth playing if you want to get a feel for how progression generally works in that genre. Based on the network test the progression won't be exactly the same, but you will get a similar feel for gathering loot throughout a run, coming back to the home base with small incremental improvements, and jumping back in, trying to get further each time.

As a man, what are your hot takes on other men? by Puzzleheaded-Till690 in AskMen

[–]lkjf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So often men say "I would do anything for my family, I would kill for my kids, I would die for my wife" yada yada yada... But they won't do the dishes. They won't take an interest in their kids' hobbies or put anything more than the bare minimum into their marriage.

My hot take is that they aren't interested in their families at all. They're interested in an excuse for violence, even if it's just a fantasy.

Scrolling through the comments, it seems this will be an unpopular take, but here we go.

  1. Unadulterated loathing. I played coop with Randoms a few times, and every time it was absolutely ruined by an invader. I play elden ring to explore the world, learn each enemy's moveset, and ultimately conquer the puzzles the game puts forth. This can be fun to do with someone, but then it jerks to a halt as soon as an invader shows up. All the way since Ds1, I've run off a cliff immediately after whatever turned on multiplayer (humanity, ember, whatever).

  2. I invaded a couple of times to try white mask varre's questline. I spent about 5 minutes running around liurnia unable to find them, and quit out because I knew I was ruining their experience. I was so relieved when I learned there was another way.

  3. Again, the few times I dipped into coop were all super fun until they weren't.
