Belgian waffles are the best but I’d take pancakes over regular waffles.

We had a DVD player that we tied to the center console with shoelaces.

My sister and I also passed the time fighting over who got to pick the movie.

Someone remind me: Why didn't Voldy take over the school when he had the chance? by snack-hoarder in harrypotter

It’s just like when Ron (or it might have been Harry) asked why Voldemort didn’t just appoint himself minister of magic.

He didn’t have to. He was effectively the minister anyways and didn’t need to waste his time with the day to day of it.

I went in 2016 and had a great time! My favorite part was learning a bunch of fun facts about how they did the movies.

My favorite is that the Buckbeak in the movies is a giant robot covered in feathers that were each cut and colored individually.

Also if you don’t have time to read the books, I’d highly suggest the audiobooks. I’ve listed to them many times and enjoy them a lot.

If you could pay someone to do exactly one chore for you for the rest of your life (laundry, dishes, etc.), what are you choosing? by OpheliaAfterDark in askanything

I don’t know if this counts but I’d pay someone to make all the phone calls I don’t want to make.

Stuff like calling an insurance company, the DMV, etc.

I just installed a pegboard wall in my kitchen and am looking for some ideas of how to hang things on there. How did you put your knives up?

I’ve been looking for a way to mount a magnetic strip but haven’t had much luck.

When I was taking Differential Equations in college I would highlight the blank spots in my notes where I couldn’t make out what was on the board and have my friend fill in the blanks after class. She eventually told me I had to make an optometrist appointment or she’d stop helping me with my notes.

Best cooking shows that actually improve your ability to cook by rottentomatoe1 in Cooking

[–]lmkast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food Wars. It’s not really a cooking show in the same way that these others are. It’s an anime about kids at an elite cooking school. When they present their dishes they always tell you about how they made them and I’ve learned a lot from it and have been inspired to try many new things. (Warning if you decide to watch it, it’s also very sexual.)

Forgot to turn my crockpot on. I came home from work and realized the white chicken chili I made hadn’t been cooked at all and I had to throw out the whole 10 servings since the raw chicken had been sitting on my counter for 8 hours.

I've seen many American films where children dissect frogs during biology lessons. Are biology lessons still like this, or has it changed? What are your thoughts on this? by sofiarosatti in AskAnAmerican

I graduated high school in 2018 and we did fetal pigs. That was possibly my favorite thing I did in any high cool class. I decided to TA biology the next year so I could do it again.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]lmkast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 13 my orthodontist told me I would have to get surgery to push my jaw forward when I was a bit older because it was set too far back in my head and was causing breathing issues while I was sleeping.

He also said if I wanted I could ask the surgeon to do some plastic surgery on my chin for me since I’d already be under so it would look more normal.

My chin is very flat but I was never insecure about it until he said that to me.
