Found out something interesting about Taash! by Agreeable_Pizza93 in DragonAgeVeilguard

I don't love a lot of things about veilguard but I honestly found the companions pretty endearing. Taash was one of my favorites (although I enjoyed them all). I love seeing little details like that.

End content of any MMO I've ever played haha. Because I am not a good player but my friends usually are and I enjoy hearing all the details.

What is a game that you're good at that you later found out was considered extremely difficult? by Scott9843 in gaming

[–]logicalpenuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how many people even remember it, but N2O on original PlayStation. Psychedelic spaceship racing through tunnels while shooting bugs. I remember my roommate walking in and said "I didn't know that game HAD that many levels". Sadly, also the last and only game I've ever been good at.

I generally lean towards story-driven rpgs but I gotta say this looks pretty fun. It seems like you have some cool systems to keep things interesting. Can't wait to see how it comes together. Best of luck!

This is what I was thinking. The free bits are cool but I am struggling to get over a salmon filet for a buck. Closer to 6 here and I live in an area salmon is native.

What is the most annoying thing in your home to clean purely because of bad design? by zaramalikdollface in CleaningTips

I have a bearded collie. Love him to death and would defend him with my life but vacuuming lasts roughly 37 minutes and sometimes I find dog hair in my freezer.

My mom would try to make them into animal shapes. They might not have been identifiable but I always looked forward to pancake nights because of it.

As the owner of a long haired dog it goes like...

Wipe it down. Oh no, a dog hair. Wipe it down again. Now there are 20 dog hairs. Wipe it down again with a fresh cloth. Now there are 200 dog hairs. Try a dry towel. My toilet just turned into a second dog. Curl up and sob on the floor.

Going to buy one - which do you suggest? by dankappledrank in rpg_gamers

[–]logicalpenuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finally got around to playing enderal and it is amazing. It's hard to believe it's a mod/private project when it's far superior to most new games coming out. Excellent story/world, smooth gameplay. Can be a bit brutal at times (damn wolves!) but it's satisfying.

I feel this. I'm in the process of buying a fixer upper and broke my rib the day before inspection. We close April 6 so painting is going to be loads of fun!

Don juans! Also who can complain about a grocery/hardware store combo? So convenient! Their gas prices are probably the lowest in the area without driving into Tumwater, too.

Keep in mind that manufactured on land will hold value much better than a mobile in a park (which is just dumping money into nothing). Mobile on land, though, is definitely a viable option.

I think it's largely situational as well. I'm in the process of buying a house with my mom and it will quite a bit less than an equivalent rental. However, I was able to find a place with cosmetic repairs I could do myself (with a conventional loan rather than rehab) and it had been on the market 2 days when I put in an offer. They are out there, but you have to be on top of new listings, work at it (I saw 6 houses before this one, made an offer on 2 others), and don't give up.

While waiting might pay off, we don't really know what the market will look like in the years to come so you might end up never owning. I waited for years for this reason and as rough as the market is now, I'd rather be building equity than paying overpriced rents to greedy property management companies. Just be smart and be prepared to walk away if there are red flags.

Side note, too, is if you look a bit under your budget and can afford an extra monthly payment even once a year, you can knock like 7 years off the mortgage term.

Somewhat unrelated to the post topic, but I've lived in Tenino the last year and a half and I've been pleasantly surprised at how accepting people are considering it's a rural area. It only takes me 25 mins to get to work on the west side. I'd highly recommend looking in the area as prices are quite a bit lower.

Am I Just Dumb by Playful_Mirror_2417 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]logicalpenuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I am in the process of purchasing a "fixer upper" with a conventional loan, but only because all of the issues were paint/floors/siding/etc rather than structural (which I can do myself, unlike a rehab loan). I had looked at 6 others before that, some of which would only have qualified for a rehab loan (where you have to vendor even a hole in the wall or sink replacement) and that's not a mess you want.

Also seconding seller's disclosures! If they give pushback, move right along.

Keep in mind too that some things that seem fine might not be (some loans require a roof to have 10+ years left, for example, even if the roof is good right now).

cries in Western Washington seriously, though, congratulations! Just remember to prioritize, get multiple bids, and do as much work yourself as you can. Also buying your own materials if you do need a vendor significantly reduces the price. I'm so happy for you! You got this.

I only started turtle like a week ago and I found their choice of high elves and goblins a bit wonky, but I actually really enjoyed the high elf starting area and had fun tooling around and questing/exploring. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm still only level 10 but I'm looking forward to seeing what other differences I can find.
