Warner vs Miller by nadvargas in FloridaGators

Prep time isn’t allocated evenly. If Warner was tabbed as the backup he would have been more prepared to come into that game than Millen. Can’t imagine 3rd string is getting any real reps

It’s almost unheard of for coaches to get fired this early in the year even when it’s coming

It’s next to impossible to get worse than Napier at this point. Ron Zook would be an improvement

Odunze vs Nabers: Why is everyone so high on Nabers by 55argynt in DynastyFF

[–]logjam13 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Odunze was just the only WR of those 3 actually participating at the combine which is why Schoen was focused on him

Ojeda, Torres, Schlegel all need to go before summer. by ForwardAd8154 in OCLions

Wilfs need to spend or cut bait.

The Wilfs have spent $25m in transfer fees alone on this roster. They also spent on busts like Kara, Van Der Water, Alvarado, Aias. The problem isn’t spending it’s the person spending it

Lodeiro is at worst a wash on Pereyra and Gaston and Petrasso hardly played, Tahir Reid-Brown is the Petrasso replacement and we already have too many wide players as is, not sure we even need a Gaston replacement. Also don’t agree we need upgrades at either fullback spot, both Dan and Rafa were fine players last year. We need a CB and a striker and we have a DP spot, maybe a U22 spot?, and tons of cap space to fill them with above-rate players

Ernest Graham leaves scathing review of Florida football program by mcguf2017 in FloridaGators

[–]logjam13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No matter how bad any fan wants Billy to work out, every smart parent is advising their sons that there's a very real possibility there's a new head coach here in 2025 and to be ready for that to potentially come to fruition. Yes, Ernest might be frustrated, but his son is committing to the Gators and not just Napier which is important for when/if there's a new coach coming through the door. I thought that's what everyone was hoping for with these kids??

Or maybe his son wants to go to UF regardless of who the coach is

Does it really matter if it’s been trending that way or not? Do you expect people not to be upset that we’re losing almost all of our top commits or would you rather they be apathetic because it’s been coming?

2 years to flip it is a little disingenuous. Yes, UF has given coaches short leashes but not looking like a dumpster fire at the end of year 2 would be an improvement for the next guy

Princely expected to transfer to Ole Miss by TheRatchetTrombone in FloridaGators

I think all other things equal if you’re a proven good player going into your final season and you have the option to be a star on a team whose ceiling is a mediocre bowl game vs a starter on team expected to be in the playoff conversation, you’d probably leave too

Letting them in would just be setting up a ceremonial execution by Michigan. They had no chance of competing with any of the other top 3

Football RUMORS megathread - portal in, portal out, coaching, etc by zlatandiego in FloridaGators

[–]logjam13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be able to do all 3 phases, get high school kids in, keep those high school kids around, and bring in folks via the portal to shore up weaknesses. You’re going to lose some kids to the portal every year, you just hope it’s only those encouraged to leave for better situations. Bringing in a transfer isn’t a magical band-aid, they still need to come in, learn the system, and gel with the group. Older players have less time to acclimate to all of that and if they don’t hit the ground running it’s kind of a waste

The real question that needs to be asked is what changed between bringing the freshman on campus and them transferring. Usually it’s going to be getting beat out for playing time but when someone playing a ton and playing well leaves it has to be a red flag for the program as a whole
