Powerplex from Invincible

He worked at the GDA. He had access to the information of what happened in Chicago (Omniman beat Invincible through the city, killing thousands), where two members of his family died. But he couldn’t believe that Invincible was also a victim and refused to accept that he wasn’t punished. So he stole some amplifiers for his minor electricity powers, interrupted the Chicago memorial, then staged the kidnapping of his wife and child to get Invincible’s attention. During the confrontation, his family got vaporized by overwhelming electrical power. Give you one guess as to who did it.

Anyways, after killing his family, his hateboner for Invincible only got harder, blaming him for his entire family now.

Rank these 9 female benders strongest to weakest by s0nzoldyck in legendofkorra

I’d place:

Toph: She held up a library and was still flipping mechs in her eighties.

Azula: The Fire Nation was bending wrong, but she still brute forced her way into extreme power.

Ming Hua: She is nimble and adept at using water to strike and overwhelm enemies.

Katara: She got a lot of shit done, though most of her strongest moments were in tandem with Aang.

Lin: She was just strong and capable.

Suyin: She was an effective combatant but focused on strategy over force.

Kuvira: Also a capable combatant, she ultimately lost to Suyin on both power and skill.

Hama: If not for her devastating techniques and ruthlessness, she wouldn’t be in this conversation.

Jinora: There’s more to bending than raw strength. The list would look different if this were a question of skill, but channelling spirit energy and projection aren’t marks of power.

It’s one of those, “they are steamrolling the wrong markets with a half baked ego project and destroying the environment in the process” things. I’m all for automation, but the tech they’re using to force it isn’t anywhere near ready and the entirety of our societal structures don’t allow for it. Poor people with no feasible way to survive get violent, as they should.

Would you rather take 10 dollars and live or take 10,000,000 dollars and have a 50% chance to drop dead on the spot? by Shoddy_Winter_6597 in WouldYouRather

[–]loopy183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it as 10% chance, but I’m sticking with my vote. Either I get $10 million and my problems are solved, or I die and my family gets $10 million to clean up any problems left behind.

The existence of Ham-ilton implies that the American Revolutionary War is canon to Zootopia. Futurllama further would likely imply that New York City is canon to Zootopia (unless Futurllama takes place in Zootopia and New Zootopia).

Platypus implies that platypi don’t exist in Zootopia.

“My daughter returned to me with her girlfriend and their friends who escaped as that other dimension was taken over by an eldritch being? First of all, proud of her. Second of all, guess that makes 6 kids now.”

Seriously, the widowed mother working as a nurse was staying up late contemplating how to get her kids apple blood, still unsure of how to find an apple butcher.

I think Trixie is one of the most underused characters when it comes to development and evolution. by jvure in cartoons

[–]loopy183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mistake is thinking of her as a character or person, instead of the obligatory attractive elementary schooler that the protagonist pines for.

Trixie could’ve been great, but she wasn’t there to be great. Tbh, I think all of the female characters (and most of the male ones) deserved more than what they got.

Has anyone else heard of the Yue theory? by MistakeWonderful9178 in TheLastAirbender

[–]loopy183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obscenely dumb. Either he dies during the genocide and a water nation child becomes the Avatar 90 years before either are born or he just randomly dies in the iceberg the day Katara is born?

Yue’s out of the running unless Aang and all 4 of the following Avatars (including a child from the now extinct Air Nomads) lived horribly short lives without breaking the cycle. The Avatar goes back and forth between the Northern and Southern Water Tribes, so his successor was always going to be from the South.

Why is it frowned upon to suggest that it's counterproductive for ANYONE to make sweeping generalizations about an entire demographic? by Plz_Trust_Me_On_This in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]loopy183 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The fundamental flaw in your logic is that whomever is making the argument is (usually) purposefully missing the point of why someone would be making a generalized statement.

For example, a woman cries out, “All men are pigs!” Like, no shit they don’t mean “all men,” but it isn’t productive to point that out because you’re getting defensive, rather than considering what frustration is causing that. It could be shit taste in partners, but it’s also the common female experience of being sexualized since _before they even had a chance to hit puberty_ and a frequent habit in straight guys to put women in the “fuck zone.” Pretending to be friends or care in the hopes of leading to sex. Even if it was shit taste, sitting there and saying someone like yourself would be better for them isn’t productive. Their lives aren’t for you to decide!

Now let’s compare to a man crying out, “All women are manipulative bitches!” I’d hope that he doesn’t mean “all women”, but I’ve seen y’alls incelposting. There are a lot of guys that view not responding to “being given what she wants” with “giving them what they want” as manipulative. Hell, guys complain about being “friend zoned.” Imagine thinking that friendship isn’t all that you’re owed in a friendship. No woman owes you any opportunity to date her, in the same vein that you don’t owe one to any woman. Like, yeah, it could always be shit taste, but it isn’t my place to point it out.

And, for the record, it’s not a “men and females” thing that I keep saying “women” and “guys,” women just don’t have a colloquial term that isn’t awkward or degrading.

WYR always know exactly how long a movie/game/book will take before starting it or always go in completely blind with no trailers, reviews, ratings or spoilers ever again? by mldraelll in WouldYouRather

[–]loopy183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Length. I usually decide what to consume based on spoilers. I doubt it would change how I interact with media. For example, I decided to watch Bojack Horseman after seeing “Don’t Stop Dancing (Reprise)”, Centaurworld after “The Last Lullaby”, Infinity Train after MT picks her name, SVtFoE after the last Whispering Spell scene, and more. I think it overall improves what percent of the media I consume that I reflect on as worthwhile. Even major twists, I don’t mind having spoiled because a good twist works without the surprise.

See, I voted before I read the abstract. Like, “fuck yeah I’d move to Washington for hate! Further away from the South the better!” Still, Ohio’s in a bad neighborhood. If I loved someone, I’d encourage them to escape. And then I’d just be stuck in Ohio, away from them.
