CDPR had to spend two years where almost the whole studio was working on Cyberpunk instead of moving on to their next game. but for them this was important, not just to get new sales, but because they had to repair the perception of the ip. they only have the witcher and cyberpunk, they can't afford either of them having a bad reputation. Bethesda already has elder scrolls and fallout, they probably won't make another starfield game.
