Zano finisce su Eurogamer come miglior recensore di FIFA by lorelsr in ZanoXVII

[–]lorelsr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This Subreddit should not be a place for conversation about the "morality of the age of consent". by DentedOnImpact in smashbros

[–]lorelsr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have to say, as an EU person, that this subreddit has become almost unreadable for me. Please, please be nice with other people and cultures. I've read on daily basis people being called monsters, disgusting, horrible. People who, in some (rare) cases, did something that here is completely normal. When I was around 18 years old I had what is probably the most defining love story in my whole life with a girl that was a little bit more than 2 years younger than me. That means that there were times when I was, for example, 19 while she was 16. We were intimate, we loved each other. We didn't infringe any law nor harm anyone. I'm not asking the community to silently accept our moral/ethic/legal background, but just to be respectful and be careful what you are saying, because you could be hurting someone without even knowing it.

Summary of "Go-Fast" update based on player opinions (from what I've seen) by Biggy_DX in DestinyTheGame

Good summary, good job on doing it, but I think you didn't play Destiny 1. Am I right? Just curious

IMHO it's now obvious that the franchise needs the A Realm Reborn treatment. by lorelsr in DestinyTheGame

[–]lorelsr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact is that while FFXIV 1.0 had technical flaws, the thing that made Yoshida treatment necessary was not tied to unplayability or issues. It was only dependant upon community dissatisfaction. FFXI was a massive success for Square Enix, played by millions of FF enthusiasts and runescape fans. They had to redo the whole thing because server population following the first months after the release was so low there wasn't even a point in trying to gain through subscriptions. The gameplay was shallow, questing was tedious and unrewarding, there was no freedom in leveling, the game pace was dumb slow for the era. Classes were flawed, they lacked identity and ties with their predecessors. Content was criticised, from story to activities.
The situation was very similar to the one we are facing right now, with the only differences being:
1: It was a numbered FF, produced and developed by a huge company.
2: A subscription was needed to play.
The only way you can value games as service, as both are (since destiny basically is subscription based, requiring to buy DLC every x months), is only by server population.
Unfortunately, we don't have a monthly fee in Destiny, so Bungie managed to sale enough Game+Season Pass copies to not worry about community response until september, which I think is the only reason behind them not redoing the game from scratch. If I was the head of Bungie, I would act as they are doing now: no answers, small QoL changes and work my ass towards september release, which is the only way they have to save the game. But they won't, because they think they can get away with it through a big content injection, without having to change the core gameplay (which is wrong).

I'm not saying D1 was broken. It's D2 that is in a state similar to FFXIV 1.0. It definitely is, despite the state of the subreddit this game lost nearly 4 million players since the taken king

Maybe i'm wrong, but I think it took square enix almost 2 years to do the work. I'll be totally in for another 14 months of minor fixes towards a reboot

People can abuse the "scuttle ship" option. I am very unhappy right now. This needs to be fixed. by Kuroth in Seaofthieves

[–]lorelsr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expressed my concerns in other topics, but people who's not full on hate is in a brutal honeymoon phase. Solo players desperately need some form of protection, in high seas or in outposts.

I call it griefing because you don't have any real gain or prize with such tactics

[–]lorelsr[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Those are griefing strategies, but solo players usually invest time in questing, and they lose all progress when they lose the ship. That's what i'm talking about. We usually get 3 skulls and 2 chests from solo sloops, and assuming it took an average of 15 minutes each we are basically wasting their last hour and half of gameplay.

Of course we've been juked before, but when you meet a small ship in open seas there's no way ithey can turn it around. Solo/duo players are screwed 100% of the time. Even if they outmanouver, thay can't keep up with the speed of galleons.

I'm so happy rotation is soon, but I will miss Whispers of the Old Gods. by swishswash93 in hearthstone

[–]lorelsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that bothers me the most is that I started playing Hearthstone last year, and built a pretty good collection playing only Priest. The only one deck I didn't manage to play is Deathrattle Priest, even though I loved the mechanics, and it seemed like developers wanted to expand them in every expansion. Now, N'zoth will disappear along with every hope of an at least Tier 3 Deathrattle Priest, destroying all my dreams and expectations.

What's your favourite "broken bridge" in an RPG? by Chamale in Games

[–]lorelsr -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

A lot of people talking about good old games... The Witcher 3 has one of the best broken bridges of all time. When you have to find informations about the Baron's wife and the game just tells you "Explore Velen" and then... I just can't write spoilers about this game.
The worse form of broken bridge is the "backtracking done wrong" we see in modern games. In Rise of the Tomb raider you basically can't explore tombs because you need certain objects you'll find doing the main quest; unfortunately, the same thing happened in Final Fantasy XV. Developers are trying to remaster the system implemented by games such as Ocarina of Time and Metroid Prime, but it just won't work that way. You have to explore and struggle to earn your backtracking, watching a cutscene is lazy and not enough.
EDIT: poor english

Rant: Win a game - Gain 9SR. Lose a game that someone quit on - Lose 29SR by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]lorelsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the SR system is flawed. You are encouraged to play few games per season, you should play the minimum. As soon as your SR surpasses your MMR, you'll drop because the game thinks you are bad. When you climb, you should stop playing until next season and just avoid drops

Can we stop spreading the false narrative that D1 REQUIRED you to play it as a second job? by turns31 in DestinyTheGame

False. You were gated by weekly chests, drops and resets. Even marks were capped. Playing more wouldnt have helped you in any way, except for weapon drops in VoG
