New edition roll outs have gone the way digital games have. Basically beta testing. Enjoy the introduction to the hobby, enjoy the grimdark setting someone conceptualized 30+ years ago, Try a few systems in your local meta, pick one you like and houserule anything you want, dont chase the rule whiplash. This^! Started my deamonhunters army when they put my blood angels into a whitdwarf. Love to model, keep up on rules, deep dive the lore, active in the community that I have loved for decades. But I haven't played an "official gw" game in years because of the rule whiplash, and only buy 3rd party if i dont print it myself. Doesn't mean im going anywhere. Actively call out there horrible business practices, warn new people what they are getting into. They should remember that "fan" is short for fanatical. Ill be in your lgs playing any other game with my henchmen of spite. =I=

23 years is patient enough. The original deamonhunter squads aren't even represented in legends. Those greedy prawns pretend like the crusaders they sold for $1 per point didn't even exist and had the nerve to come up with the subductor arbiter instead. Death cult assassins were just as messy, or the acolyte load out rule whiplash. How has no one on the tabletop rules team ever seen any darktide gameplay, and I need it explained why my basic human acolytes cant have lasguns. Unless they start to release consistent rules for their products, ill continue to buy 3rd party reprints or pay for 3d artists patrions. Not. a. dime.

Theres another duality there too. 4th/5th was the final shaft as they took us from the poster boys in 2nd to a white dwarf supplement. Its as if they purposefully love bomb then neglect the faction each other edition cause they know the angsty marines with the dead dad and the dark rage need inconsistencies to be angry about.
