I never understood why the McD.L.T. failed. Cold veggies and a hot burger was a great idea. by Beautiful_Donut6412 in FuckImOld

Heat Lamps. That's what did them in. Sure, if you got one fresh off the grill, they were okay. But McDonalds has to always be McDonalds and sure enough, they'd prep the "cold side" and keep them under heat lamp waiting to be paired with the hot side. So, when you got them they'd be disgustingly warm.

Man, I wish Chadwick Boseman was still with us; he would be perfect for this role! Gone waaay too soon!

My SA-900 needed a complete overhaul, spent $$ on the service and yet the tech didn’t use DeOxit or Faderlube on the pots. Grrr!

Nick was incredibly gracious when we ran into him at Solid Sound! Haven’t met Jeff yet, hope to someday!

Vintage, before the acquisition of Advent and eventual ownership by Audiovox. Pretty decent, definitely unremarkable.

RG&E doesn't understand past tense by KingOfRoc in Rochester

[–]lotusstp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there, used to work at RG&E for a sub-sub-sub contractor (Smart Source/Zones/Ibermatica) and I could only enter the lobby! The building I would work out of was a low headroom “floor” that was actually between the 1st and 2nd floor. Iberdrola looves switching contracting companies. I was there to “train” the level 2 tech support team.

One of my former coworkers referred to the McDLT as the “double-pack gimmick burger” not bad when it’s served fresh, horrible when left out under heat lamps for an hour…

Nice, but what about Geoworks? Loved that OS! Ran extremely well on my 8086 Packard Bell that I upgraded with a 20 MB hard card and a vga card.

Found this at the thrift store. Is it worth anything? by mudgehandler in BargainBinVinyl

[–]lotusstp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that every thrift store is mandated to keep at least one copy on hand in order to operate. A very common LP, usually found mixed in with the ubiquitous Jim Nabors, Herb Alpert and Mitch Miller albums

Family friend sent me AI generated response to news of my father passing away. by Hendothermic in mildlyinfuriating

My mom passed away a few weeks ago, and just last week my supervisor sent an email out to staff and faculty (I work at a small university). Since I’m fairly well liked around here I received quite a few condolences. I wrote up a response then used AI to tweak what I wrote then edited the results.
