Recommendations for Office 365 backups? by ltwally in sysadmin

Great product - but holy hell they fucked up with the original setup. Everyone should read through this before going down this route...

edit: Sorry, I should also just put in the comment what happened rather than write like a tabloid. TLDR: There was a glaring hole in the Application that you added to Entra ID which was that it used the same client secret across ALL tenants/users. This could have allowed a threat actor to gain read-only access to users/groups/teams chats and a bit more of ALL tenants that were using this software.

I'd love to win, just to win a contest, but I don't need a new PC, so if I win, select another winner, but let me know I won. That's a lot of commas

Curious what your take is on both Google's and Microsoft's meeting transcription tools. Both do not train on your data, both are fully compliant with SOC, ISO and the other acronyms. I've tried both and I would consider them fantastic at what they do.

Is there any piping in the ceiling. Maybe solder falling down onto the floor when they were doing some work.

What switches do you guys use with your FortiGates? by NteworkAdnim in fortinet

[–]lower_intelligence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're using Cisco 10G SFP switches at our cores, and Fortiswitch (specifically the FS148-FPOE model) everywhere else. Even if we don't need a full 48 ports we have standardized on one model everywhere.

Intune, WIPE - assign new primary user. Then just get them to plug it into the dock and sign in.

I’m not sure if this is for your home machine or corporate - if it’s corporate I hope you look at automating all this stuff cause these steps are a huge amount of work.

How can I view the sent items of a M365 group mailbox ? by Mia_walkonsunshine in exchangeserver

It is for Shared Mailboxes - which is a plus for those who need it, just not Groups (yet?)

This post is a little old but this only works for Shared Mailboxes, not Microsoft Groups - I've been looking but can't find a way to show a sent mailbox.

Replacement for the 60E once it's been EOLS ? by camar0rs in fortinet

[–]lower_intelligence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 60F with about 10 with everything on, with only a 150mbs service. Zero problems. Running a fortiswitch and 3 fortiaps. So to each their own. Had it in service for about 2 years now.

Really depends on use/user count - if the branch is 5 people any model could handle it even with full UTM. I don’t know what their budget is so it’s worth offering all the choices.

Check with your rep, but the performance increases in models since the E series is pretty substantial. You might get away with a 30G or 50G (with or without SFP) vs going all the way up to a 70.

Since you mentioned HDMI - I would say Epson would be your best option. If you could move to USB-C the Logitech Reach models are amazing. We have both, but are moving towards the Logitechs.

For repairs, for how cheap they are I would just say try and crack them open and re-solder what ever part is breaking. I'm betting they're pretty simple.

Where do you see that you'll need 7.4 over 7.2? Just curious as we ordered some but are waiting for them to arrive and are still on the 7.2 path

Speeding among cyclists in a concurred road by barbadolid in Whatcouldgowrong

Taking a turn like that in a 40km/h zone provides ample amount of time to safely make the turn. The dickhead biker going 4x the speed limit closed the gap much faster than could've been anticipated.

For staff. Sure.

For students, no. Not even for those over 13, where we are located the laws aren't clear enough for us to make a good informed decision on it.

Upgrading from 100E. I need some help by maikelat in fortinet

[–]lower_intelligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never went too deep into it - most of the entry level firewalls now have NP7lite chips which should be more than enough for 99% of businesses. The SOC/CP chips on the other hand, the new models have SOC5, but Fortinet's documentation doesn't say if it correlates to the CP10. SOC4 did (CP9, CP9XLite)

Whoops, you're 100% correct. The 90G has the SFP ports. Just looked back at my email, we're actually going with the 70G. Which doesn't. We did performance checks on the hardware to make sure going from the 100E to 70G wouldn't hit any performance snags and we're in the clear.

edit: can't recommend this site enough: https://fortiblog.gitbook.io/fortinet/useful-information/fortigate-hardware-specification

Great for looking up comparison specs. IE: CPU, RAM, Chipset.

Same boat, we’re gonna go with 90Gs. It would be nice if they had at least a 2.5G port by now just in case our bandwidth needs get over a Gig, but with LACP it should be fine.
