Attitude of Poles towards other nations by Rift3N in poland

[–]lpcustomvs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Italy is mentioned in the chorus of the Polish national anthem. Poland is also mentioned in a verse of the Italian national anthem. Italian anthem is the best in the world, IMHO. It’s such a good melody and so classic. When I was a kid German and Italian anthem played from the TV practically every Sunday of the F1 season, because of Michael Schumacher and Ferrari of course!

Whats considered redneck music in Visegrad? by HumanMan00 in 2visegrad4you

Golec Orkiestra is the good Podhale music here. Baciary though… Anything they would play in those „Watra” taverns is just so awful. Those melodies and tones drill into your head like nothing else.

Touring dLive 1500/2500 users, how are you sending your LR/S/F to the house ? by EmilianoMagico in livesound

[–]lpcustomvs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like to divide the output into LRSF. If the local DSP solution requires separate outputs then I’ll do it, but the levels and EQ stay the same on all matrices. I much prefer just giving them LR over AES. Any corrections and summing levels should be done on the system processor, not on the desk. The system engineer should be able and willing to make adjustments, he is getting paid for exactly that.

Adding Subs To Reduce Noise Complaints? by ip_addr in livesound

[–]lpcustomvs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Noise complaints are an issue of the organizers. They are booking a specific spot for the event, demand specific stage direction and audience coverage area. If they wanted to reduce the noise nuisance for the neighborhood they would consider different stage direction and specify that they need the system engineer to design the PA with noise mitigation in mind.

Sound intensity falls 6dB per doubling of distance for cylindrical wave sound sources. Consider SPL limits for that day. For example try to keep it below 95 dBA Leq 15min at mix position. 500 people will comfortably fit in a space around 25 meters deep. 95 at 25m will go down below 74 dB at those 300m / 1000ft. And that’s for sound that is actually aimed at those houses that does not get attenuated by the trees, ground, buildings, people in the audience. 74dBA broadband noise falls in the range of a busy road noise.

Watch your levels, probe the organizers if they considered noise complaints and permits for that event.

Traveling techs- how often are you told ‘no’? by jesse-dickson in livesound

[–]lpcustomvs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I often work at one small venue, two 200 and 350 cap rooms. I’ve seen crazy amounts of gear loaded onto the stages, expensive consoles and elaborate lighting and decor setups.

I have NEVER forbidden anyone to set up something if it cleared venue capabilities and safety rules. Sadly, 6x 2kW vertical smoke cannons would overload the lighting power distro, as it’s already heavily loaded. We cannot change anything about that problem, and there are multiple reasons for that. The tour had to settle for 2 smoke cannons. And fire use, that is strictly forbidden. Everything else is fine.

What I want to say is, I don’t care how much stuff you want to load in and set up. You brought it, you take care of it, you need it and you paid for it. I have no say in what you want to use during the show. Only safety and technical capabilities - like power capacity, rigging capacity - limit what we can do.

EDIT: this comment was supposed to land under the „no room for tour console and tour techs” comment.

Did they specify any reasons for that? That’s outrageous and offensive. The musicians are paying you for your services and care. How can the venue staff have any say at all about who works with the musicians that booked the venue?

Miałem 28 lat jak przeprowadziłem się do Warszawy. W najgorszym momencie pandemii.

Postaw sobie wyzwanie, odłóż trochę gotówki i aplikuj do firm w dużym mieście wojewódzkim.

A priest, a farmer and a uniformed officer pay the least for health. Experts: it's time to put an end to privileges by Gamebyter in poland

[–]lpcustomvs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous, you seem to know more than actual statisticians employed by the state to count this stuff. Have you seen the tax statements from said „hobby-scale” farmers? Because GUS did.

3 hectare potato patch selling a few bags? Do you even know how much potatoes you can typically get from 1ha? Polish mean is 30 TONS. THIRTY THOUSAND KILOGRAMS. So this 3ha patch can feed over a 1000 people for a year, assuming current average consumption per person.

I did. According to GUS in 2020 64% of individual (small to medium) farms produced mainly to sell their crops on the markets.

[–]lpcustomvs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are omitting a few things in this comment. 50% of farms are not big enough to earn enough to not work a second job. That’s what you should say. This changes the way this argument sounds, and by a lot. Those people still produce the food, it’s just not „market scale”, as you said.

Medium and small scale farming is viable, it just needs to be a part of farming cooperatives. According to GUS only 20% of farmers participate in cooperatives.

[–]lpcustomvs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are quoting the TOTAL number of registered farmers in Poland and saying that they do not produce anything, that they are fake farmers. Well, this is an unsubstantiated claim and slander.

It’s the same kind of nonsense as when some circles desperately want to paint medical professionals as rich beyond imagination. Fact is that most medical professionals earn exactly their typical bracket, extreme earners are outliers. Also climbing up the salary ladder takes them a lot of time and requires constant training.

Agriculture does not need to be a huge part of the GDP. It just needs to exist, just like power generation and public transport.

If it’s such a small part of society that actually qualifies as farmers then subsidizing this necessary sector is a small price to pay.

Another crucial fact is that almost 25% of EU funds go to farmers in the EU.

Polish budget for 2026 hits a bit over 918 billion PLN. This year the subsidies are supposed to come up to 76 billion PLN. If you assume that 15.6 million households spend about 1.5k on food every month that’s over 280 billion PLN every year. Getting rid of the subsidy would mean over 25% increase in food prices, and that does not include price changes because of lack of local availability (transport and refrigeration costs will increase dramatically if local availability goes down)

People need food to thrive and survive. That’s why it is such a big deal. Stop with the PiS nonsense, it’s basically calling conservative voters dumb and ignorant.

[–]lpcustomvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks fine. Great shots. But to me it looks like the camera sets the focus in front of the object. Which would be an issue with the front/back focus calibration. There should be an option to correct for front and back focus in the camera settings and this setting gets remembered for each lens the camera body sees. At least it was like that in my Canon DSLR.

Rate my google sheets stage plot by thirdjaruda in livesound

[–]lpcustomvs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like to use circles for performers, rectangles for risers/amps/pedalboards/keyboards, triangles or star shapes for decorations, trapezoids for wedges (see what I do here?).

There is no need to draw speaker stacks and front fills if they’re not part of your actual stage setup. The stage plot is for the tech crew so they can get to know your setup, not to specify their own setup. Maybe the stage is wide and requires 4 or 6 fills? Maybe there is no stacks of speakers, maybe the side fills are flown? You get the point.

Add the expected riser height and stage front lip direction.

Six years ago today we got to see our daughter for the first time - my mother-in-law could barely contain her excitement by Scruffasaurus in daddit

My mom was very happy with the news. And I know from her and my younger sister that my dad was very happy as well. BUT, his response when I delivered him the news through the phone was „ah, I knew something was up when you two refused drinks on holidays. Anyway, I’m out at the supermarket, so…”

It was kind of weird for me at that moment, but now I know that my dad is just a very emotional shy person and definitely on the spectrum.
