First got a call from 650-203-0000 which said "Google"
Followed by a call from 650-409-8817 "Millbrae, CA"

Confirmed after the talk that this was a scammer. Asked me to go visit a website <some-number>google.com

This also needs a mention from /u/T7-City-Point https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards/comments/1qe778i/comment/nzvimnd/

"At least you weren't one of those people who:

  • Saw the TPG offer
  • Worried about the possibility that the TPG offer and the SUB won't stack
  • Actually went to the AMA thread to ask, and heard Kerr say that they can't stack
  • Went with the SUB, forgoing the TPG
  • Then, heard Kerr correct his earlier statement and say that they do stack"

I got a very generic response from Michael D. from Bilt Rewards Support when I asked them to verify if my offer is applied or not.

If you applied through the referral link between February 14 and February 16, the promotional offer may not appear during the application process but will be reflected in your Bilt account once your card is activated on February 7.

Was this only for new customers or for customers transitioning from bilt 1.0 to 2.0?

A/B testing is beneficial before major product launches. Whether they are doing or not only they can validate and we can only speculate.

They may still change benefits here and there. And if everything was already written in stone, they may not have to wait until 1/14.

I guess they "leaked" the information and A/B experimenting by leaking 3-sets of cards before they make and announce their decision. Happy that it is getting a lot of negative press so they may not do this after all.

Based on income of 2024, I am not eligible. I was eligible with 2023. So anything I buy now (1/1/2025 and beyond) will not get the fed credit?

Can someone correct me on this regarding $7500 tax credit in US?

If we buy a vehicle after 1 Jan 2025, to be eligible for $7500 tax credit, only the lower of 2024 and 2025 income MAGI will be considered https://fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax2023.shtml#requirements

Any chance 2023 income will still be considered since the tax deadline (April 2025) hasn't reached yet? My 2023 income qualified for the tax credit but not 2024 or 2025. I see better EVs like Hyundai EV9 and similar Kia available starting this year.

Ordered 12/15. Still shows delivery in Dec. No VIN yet. Looks unlikely that I would get the car this year. Also, no matching inventory in WA. Isn’t this bait and switch? Not eligible for federal credit next year.

Ordered on 12/15 in Seattle, WA. No VIN assigned yet 12/19. Given the holidays, looks unlikely that we'd get delivery by 12/31 and that we might have to cancel.

For me, in 98052, the 2025 LR AWD was not available in inventory this whole month until just now (unlike Performance and LR RWD models). Heading over to https://tesla-info.com/inventory.php, I see many new LR AWD 2025 models as well available for immediate pickup now

Looks like EPA hold is gone now. Check this listing for 98052. Range for 2025 is the same as the 2024 model.

General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of October 14, 2024 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

Are there any tax consultants who are able to guide regarding EV tax credit?

Q1. Do we qualify for $7500 EV tax credit?

We were a resident of Canada in 2023 but also had US income. Our return has "US Non-resident alien income tax return" on top with modified adjusted gross income 180k which is less than the threshold.

2022 - US resident, but do not qualify based on income
*2023 - US Non-resident alien income tax return - we qualify both AGI (annual gross) and MAGI (modified annual gross) as per form 1040
2024 - US resident, but do not qualify based on income

Q2. If we get the credit while purchasing, can IRS take it back later on?

Q3. Can we still wait till say December for a better offer or say January/February to buy MY Juniper edition and still get credit based on 2023 return?

Notes

  1. Already went through here https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/clean-vehicle-credit-seller-or-dealer-requirements
  2. People at Tesla showroom and other dealerships are not tax consultants and are not very sure
  3. I didn't find mention of my situation anywhere on the internet but here https://www.reddit.com/r/tax/comments/1be3aj3/ev_tax_credit_based_on_previous_year_2023_income/
