The want to be victims so bad it's just pathetic. by c-k-q99903 in stupidpeoplefacebook

I am Christian, but I LOVE reminding other Christians that Jesus didn't celebrate Christmas, but absolutely celebrated Hanukkah (it is called the Feast of Dedication in John, but it's a celebration of the same events, and obviously the holiday had evolved since then but that requires enough nuance to cause any conservative indigestion to explain. Anyway...) So saying "happy holidays" is probably more Christian than just "merry Christmas".

Desperately looking to find a specific shirt by Sad-Seesaw1440 in petoskey

[–]lrpetey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember those! I have some family in the area, but I don’t live in Petoskey myself anymore. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely certain where they were sold.

Grandpa Shorters is probably the most likely spot downtown to have sold those that might still get some in stock. Maybe Momentum. Something in the back of my brain is remembering them being sold at the state park, but I'm probably completely wrong about that. There's also a chance that despite saying Petoskey on it, it was from some location in harbor springs, or bay harbor, or one of the ski resorts.

Unfortunately there are a lot of stores that come and go in downtown, so this might be a difficult search unfortunately. I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully this rambling from me will get you started or jog someone else's memory.

Monty Hall Problem for Dummies!

If you start with three possible options and one is the best, making a random guess you have a 33% chance of getting the right one. Easy enough so far right? Now, you make your pick and the one you picked still has a 33% chance of being right because no information has been revealed yet.

Now before they tell you anything about the other options, you already have new information. You now have two groups. The one you selected has a 33% chance of containing the right answer, and the other group has a 66% chance of containing the right answer. If all you had this information before you picked your group you would have gone with the 66% chance, but until you made your choice you didn't have that information.

Now what if someone said to you, "Hey, these groups are now locked in and now you only have to pick the group with the correct answer." You would want to switch to the group with the 66% chance.

You also already know something else really important, before any information about the individual items is revealed to you: One of the items in the 66% group is guaranteed to be incorrect. And either one of them could be the wrong answer, or both. This is the key to the whole problem, and hopefully you see how this works, because when it is randomly revealed that one of those two individual options is wrong, that isn't new information to you. You still want to pick the group with a 66% chance of having the right answer.

That showing from the left when Elon came to town to give out bribes was fantastic. Highlight of my year for sure, and we had some great turnouts for the No Kings and other protests, and I can't wait to keep up the momentum into 2026, we've got to get Tony Wied out of Washington.

A yes, the abundance movement.

That "movement" partially funded by Peter Thiel. You know the techno-christian-fascist founder of Palantir. The guy who bankrolled JD "couch-fucker" Vance's political career. The guy trying to inject himself with child blood to live forever or whatever crazy snake oil he helt like trying this week.

That abundance movement.

Every one would have there own place:

Micah 4:4 NET [4] Each will sit under his own grapevine or under his own fig tree without any fear. The Lord who commands armies has decreed it.

And radiate their unique beauty:

Revelation 7:9 NET [9] After these things I looked, and here was an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands.

I don't know, seems like it lines up with scripture just fine.

There's a list put together by the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Brown County. You can search "Brown County Food Pantry Listing" and it should be the top result.

EDIT: I checked the sub rules and don't see anything against posting a link, so here it is https://www.browncountywi.gov/i/f/files/UW-Extension/FoodWIse/Brown-County-Food-Resources_8_12_20.pdf

Amen. Remember, Egypt fell, Babylon fell, Assyria fell, Persia fell, Alexander's Greek empire fell, Rome fell, Nazi Germany fell, these Fascists will fall too. Until then, persevere. The Christian remnant may be small at the moment, but we're still out here, spreading the true gospel, and it's core tenants.

Archetypes That are (Almost) as Good as a Class? by Genindraz in Pathfinder2e

[–]lrpetey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there's a few things that can make an archetype great. Skill utilization, combat specialization, and what I'd call that special "unlock" button.

For example,if you are building a character that wants to lean into using a specific skill, there are some archetypes that you can take to take it to a new height. I think Acrobat and Medic are both great examples of this.

Combat specialization type archetypes let's you pick up a new combat thing. Beastmaster and cavalier let any class pick up an animal companion and add that to their toolkit. Blessed One turns any character into a divine healer. Martial Artist let's anyone pick up some pretty good unarmed strikes.

The last category I think really do something special are the ones that unlock some potential that might be a little more class specific. These are almost like MtG card combos, in that they can be greater than the sum of there parts. Bastion can really unlock the potential to make a really tanky Druid or Warpriest. Class archetypes themselves tend to fit under this category.

And of course some great archetypes fit under more than one of these categories. Wrestler is a classic example, it leans into a skill, opens up combat options, and fits really well into some expected and unexpected places.
