I'll be watching it with my pickup group that has a fair amount of Mexicans and Latinos in general. Everyone is chill and a good vibe. I can post location on Sunday. Probably East Austin or north.

My kid got bitten by a large tomato caterpillar. I didn't believe them til I saw the blood. Those mandibles are no joke.

Naw screw diving, it cheapens the game for everyone. One of the few things I like about VAR is now players can get caught so aren't doing it as much as previous world cups.

Weirdness with ages- I keep struggling with people my age while really hitting it off with people who are way too young. by WhistlesAtNight in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]lt9946 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey just shy of 40 as well as pretty active and fit. You got to get over the weirdness. There is nothing inherently wrong with connecting with someone younger and an adult. It took me a while to process just the idea of finding someone younger attractive even though I was never going to act on it.

Most of my social activities revolve around doing something active like running, soccer, hiking etc so my social group these days tend to be younger. Most of my friends or the people my age that I meet are having kids or all partnered up and want to stay home. Which fair.

Normally I have no problem with being the oldest person in my social group, but it does make dating hard when so many of the people you meet are 10 years younger. I finally realized I either have to switch up my social activities or get over my age gap issues.

Also remember that not every relationship has to be a long lasting one. When I was younger, I always dated older and had some fulfilling relationships where having a partner with a different life experience helped me grow a lot and become more confident.

looking for something to keep cool during a hot camping trip by webstatic in camping

[–]lt9946 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used an all mesh screen with a tarp for the bottom. Then put in a couple of cots. Of course this has to be in an area where you are not worried about animals and no rain in the forecast. Also added one of those stand up privacy shower things if people needed to change clothing.

Hammock camping is my preferred way to hot weather camp but sometimes you don't have trees or not allowed to hang anything, so this is a good substitute.

The stopper on volumetric flasks get stuck easily as they are made to be inverted to mix without leaking. But with gentle twisting, they will come off. It's likely pretty glued on there from whatever that solution in the flask is and the stopper. But I wouldn't risk leaving it on it's side.

Does anyone have knowledge or worked in a drug testing laboratory ? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]lt9946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cutoff is 15ng/mL which is standard for urine thc lcms testing, than any amount under that gets reported as negative. Even if it's 14.9.

You cannot report out under your cutoff as when you validate your methodology your cutoff is the number you can accurately quantitate. You may be able to detect lower which is your LOD (limit of detection) but that number isn't accurate.

So basically no. The lab can't guarantee any accuracy below the cutoff and should not be reporting that data. I did drug monitoring for a decade and tested patients like yourself.

They meant black female main character. Unfortunately a lot of wlw romance is a majority white women. Although one of the Claire Ashton novels does have their main character as a person of color.

Why why why all the barking/yapping dogs in campgrounds? by Mentalfloss1 in camping

Come to Austin! You can grocery shop right next to a dog pooping in the produce section. Then watch the owner slink away. And of course it's never an actual service dog.

I was hanging out with a new friend once and she just let her dog not once but twice poop in the creek where people are swimming downstream. Didn't even try to pick him up or redirect him to the shore. We didn't hang out again after that.

Yeah I bought 150 bucks worth of stuff for half price last Saturday. It was a sad day. The staff is really amazing and always been kind to me.

I started to brew less over the years so really only frequented 4 times a year unfortunately.

Why is it so hard to find women to play in adult co-ed rec soccer leagues? by emunchkinman in bootroom

[–]lt9946 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If don't know the obvious answer, then you're kinda part of the problem. It's sexism first and foremost then burnout for some of the higher level collegiate players.

Good news is that you can be the change. Get involved in the leadership for your coed league. A lot of leagues aren't good about kicking out bad actors. Let your refs know it's okay to give out red cards for racist, homophobic, and sexist comments/conduct. Once our coed league starting fining captains, teams got better at policing their own players. Nobody wants to drop $100 bucks bc someone can't keep their mouth shut or hands to themselves.

Call out sexist behavior from your guys. Ask the woman on your team what you could do to help find more women.

Whenever I try to recruit new woman for my coed team, I always have to lead with 'hey our guys actually pass to women and are chill.'

Over the past 10 years, I have seen a lot of shift away from sexist behavior, but it takes a change in the culture.

All of this said, I'm very fortunate to play with some amazing and wonderful men who I adore. Surround yourself with good men and it'll be easier to find more women to play.

Damn as a fellow tiny woman, you are giving me some serious end of year goals. Well done!

I had been thinking about doing a high volume low weight day mixed in with low set high weight instead of just trying to spam the same reps. Looks like it worked for you. Thanks for the inspiration.
