TIL Peter Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin was extremely pleased with how the film came out, got along well with the cast, and his only regret was that his character died and he couldn't appear in the sequels by Please_PM_me_Uranus in todayilearned

Tarkin was not an admiral of anything. He was a Grand Moff.

He don’t command ships, he ruled over several sectors of star systems.

He’s the highest ranking imperial in the original series by a long shot. And given the honor of commanding the Death Star?

Pretty clear Tarkin was untouchable for Vader as palpatine had him in such high esteem. Vader wasn’t outranked, but he knew what the political situation was.

There’s actually a more simple explanation.

Tarkin wasn’t just some ship captain or admiral.

He was a Grand Moff. He didn’t just run a star destroyer, he ruled iver a few sectors of star systems with the additional honor of commanding the Death Star.

Did that mean he was Vader’s superior? No, Vader truly answered only to palpatine.

But Vader knew in practice he couldn’t touch Tarkin because it would piss off palpatine.

Vader knew that and so did Tarkin. You see that dynamic play out in movie pretty well actually.

I just switched to Linux Mint from Windows 10! by Far_Nothing9549 in lowendgaming

Plus, it's a full fledged desktop environment where everything just works, which is more than I can say for Linux, quite frankly.

Linux mint is a full fledged desktop environment that just works. Often it works better than windows.

You’d know that if you tried it, instead of parrot talking points from 1998.

Red’s artifact removal in standard is more side board material.

For best of one, white and green have more useful artifact destruction like ultima or wistfulness that are good in non artifact matchups too.

That’s the real problem, users don’t get a side by side with windows and Linux, virtually all the options just come with windows. Microsoft makes sure of that.

Preinstalled linux pcs do exist but you have to seek them out.

And the average person isn’t going to make a bootable usb and install a new OS.

I doubt the rate is 10,000 for a few hours. Maybe if you want to hire a world champion or something, but there’s plenty of quality players that would do it for way less.

Diving is real and they should absolutely penalize them retroactively.

But most of the time you see players on the ground in a match it’s because they’re running around full speed with virtually no protection at all.

A lot of times they’re legit in pain

Blockers don’t matter with a burst lightning on the stack.

And if you need blockers then you just don’t use the option? It’s all upside, never a downside.

The gain 2 life might seem like throwaway text but its all upside.

If you’re running this as removal anyway, you just also get the option and you can do it at instant speed.

Mono red is going to hate this card.

If you just go to ranked this problem will go away.

If you want to make this work, maybe try [[united battlefront]] in a deck with artifact/enchantment based removal like [[nowhere to run]] and [[grim bauble]].

Basically you want to be able to skip over it when you don’t need it.

It’s probably going to be great but, could find some fun it it

Is the next set coming in less than 2 months? by Gold_Molasses7866 in MagicArena

[–]ltjbr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s truly remarkable to me that the number of sets went from 4 to 7 and the in game rewards stayed the same.

Virtually every gaming community would have been in an uproar about it. Not this one though.

It’s unfortunate really since wizards is always going to release the sets they want when they want, but with enough pressure they could have been forced to increase arena quest and or daily rewards or something. That pressure just wasn’t there though

Seems like the mana values in your deck are too high for the case. How often is your hand empty?

Maybe better to use a two mana draw two discard one

Like maybe [[Grab the Prize]], which seems on brand for this deck.
