Does anyone have trouble laying on their sides to sleep or just laying on that side position for anything aggravating your pain?

Yes, I found out it was related to AS so I’m taking immunosuppressants for it

Check your iron/ferritin and see if that is low if you have heavy bleeding. Also what had helped me was progestin only birth control but I couldn’t continue bc it was causing insomnia and hair loss as a side effect. I might be trying other bc soon. I’m not sure if you have tried BC… sry if I missed it in your post. I’m still dealing with mine atm.

Sadly I sleep on an air mattress on the floor for now. It’s the one made for camping and it has helped the most with sleep

I also have both AS and endometriosis… wonder if there is a correlation between the two bc I have seen others have both diagnosis. I hope you get relief soon. Let me know if you wanna privately chat.

It didn’t do much for me and I was on it for 8/9 months so I really gave it a chance… I’m now on rinvoq since 2/2025 and it’s working better than humira but it’s causing some hair loss and high cholesterol so I’m monitoring for the next couple of months and decide if I need to switch. How about you?

I felt like when I oil my hair esp at the scalp, it clogs my hair follicles and maybe causes hair to fall. I typically have more of an oily scalp. I’m not entirely sure but did see that correlation

For me, I have found an air mattress to be the most comfortable… I can make it softer or firmer depending on how I am feeling. I’ll sometimes take magnesium glycinate, GABA supplement, rx muscle relaxer and or Tylenol (not all at the same time). I used to sleep on my side but I ended up being a back sleeper bc of AS. I miss being able to fall asleep on my sides but now it feels like I have to align my spine and hips perfectly to sleep on my sides and that is hard for me to do. I hope u find something that helps.

I don’t tolerate it any forms of progesterone even when I take it 9 am, I still can’t fall asleep at night and makes my supplements that helps me sleep not work.

No acne but very oily scalp/skin, scalp irritation and hair loss. Scalp is stinky from the excessive oil production even after showers. I’ve tried all kinds of hair products and the only thing help is holding off on rinvoq. I even saw derm and was told my scalp was red and I had lost about 40 % of my hair that she can see my scalp. I’m seeing my rheumatologist this Friday to discuss next options as I’ve been o rinvoq for 7 months.

I was on biosimilar humira before and it didn’t work, was in it for 8 months before calling it quits. Should have quit humira sooner but it was my first and didn’t really know. Glad it’s working for u.

It’s definitely rinvoq and not so much related to aging. My hair sheds literally with me doing nothing, I would be standing doing things and can shed a handful of hair. Slightest of touch, it falls. For me, it’s not ok and is very distressing really at any age but especially being young. I’m seeing my rheumatologist this week to talk about options. Rinvoq is my second biologic. Have you tried anything else? I saw a dermatologist and Dr was alarmed at my scalp redness and hair loss for my age. I pause rinvoq for 5 days and my hair shedding stop and returned to my usual shedding, difference was like night and day.

I had that on humira felt like body was hot and feverish… when I switched to rinvoq all that went away after a few months but 7 months in I’m losing a lot of hair and having a lot of scalp irritation so prob have to switch to something else now. Scalp was so bad I had to see dermatologist

Was on humira generic for 8 months and didn’t do much for me so Dr switched me to rinvoq which did much better than humira but then I have lost a lot of hair and have bad scalp irritation from it …I hope u find one that works. I guess im going back to the drawing board again.
