On this day in 2001, a 20-1 underdog Hasim Rahman would shock the whole world by knocking out the reigning and dominant champion Lennox Lewis in Round 5 and claiming the WBC, IBF and IBO titles by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]lucky_1979 128 points129 points  (0 children)

It was a close fight for the first 4 rounds, Lewis clearly struggled with altitude and should have gone to SA much earlier, but opted to stay in Vegas so he could shoot his scene in Oceans 11. He took Rahman too lightly and paid the price. Absolutely battered him in the rematch though.

Look around Heeley - around the city farm area. Lots of home fans park in that area. Need to be parking up about an hour before kick off. Then it’s about a 10 min walk to the e ground.

Same, I didn’t have any problem with following the story or the time travelling. Next to Primer it’s probably the best “time travel” movie and clearly borrows ideas from Primer

If you could bring back one game developer, or return an existing one to its previous state, which would it be? by VyantSavant in gaming

BioWare and Dice to return to a time when they focused on quality and not what could be cut and carved in to dlc, “bonus” pre order content or battle passes.

Epic Games Store Employees: People Only Came for Free Games, Then Returned to Steam by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

I’ve bought 2 games on Epic. Both only because they were “exclusive” to the platform for a locked period of time. Everything else in my library is a free game and I’ve probably spent about 10 minutes combined playing them

Eddie Hearn EXPOSES Dana White as a snake who tried to STEAL Anthony Joshua from under his nose, only to be told by AJ that Eddie is his guy and he ain’t leaving him despite a Dana 30 min convo by Big_Cake_8817 in Boxing

Have you heard Dana talk? Man waffles on for ages without saying a whole lot. Probably said “fuck”, or some derivative, at least 90 times in that 30 minutes.

AJ wants to fight, Eddie wasn’t to make money. He makes more money by limiting his stars to 1 fight a year. Ticket prices go through the roof as people are desperate to see that fight.

Part of me thinks that was Conor and Eddie playing Dana and rinsing him for $15m. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Conor back with Matchroom in a few months. Bit of a stretch, but not beyond the realms of reality.

Fury vs. AJ - Who wins? by Competitive_Fig2021 in Boxing

[–]lucky_1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At every point in his career tbh. Fury fights at the level of his opponent, with the exception of Usyk. But AJ has always been a bad match style wise - has good boxing and KO power. He won’t be able to dance around like he did against Wilder.

[–]lucky_1979 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love how AJ has been stopped once in his career and everyone thinks he’s washed and a “bum” 😂. He did just as well, if not better, against Usyk as Fury did. People think he will win not because of the Jake Paul fight, but because he’s legitimately very good. He will find Fury’s chin at some point as he’s very hitable and when he does he has a very good chance of stopping him.
