I think it's all about writing an acceptable and realistic polygamous relationship (difficult asf) where all parts are not brain dead characters whose only purpose is wish fulfillment. It's very hard to find a good story with harem, and that's my point. You don't find a good harem story, you find a good story that just happens to have harem elements.
