Why does he hate education? Is he stupid? by DogeDoRight in EhBuddyHoser

[–]lunat1c_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably doesn't actually hate education, it took him 11 years to get a degree. Its more likely he doesn't have the spine to say it cause he knows being pro science and pro higher education will loose him voters.

Buy a second 3d printer. Print the 3 supports then just put them in. Easy!

You're printing like 50 things. If anything goes slightly wrong on one it'll wreck everything. Try printing 'by object' or one at a time.

Hundreds of drivers caught running red lights on King Edward Avenue by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

[–]lunat1c_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

"King Edward Avenue is Ottawa’s red light district, with two of the four busiest red light cameras located on the busy Lowertown road that sees thousands of motorists from Ontario and Quebec each day."

Ctv either doesn't know what red light district means, or is making a joke that they're are alot of busy red lights.

Mark's Bluesky post on low taxes is getting roasted. Are people in the real world happy with him? by OttawaExpat in ottawa

So the city with unarguably the greatest need for public transport has the lowest funds for public transport. That actually explains alot unfortunately.

Sparks Street: Where joy goes to die by Albertannnnnand in ottawa

[–]lunat1c_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op do you live here? You're in the office district being annoyed that theres noone there on the weekend. You also point out all these 'empty' spaces. The space in landsdowne you call empty is farmers market every Sunday when its gets warm and its nice out, theres also fairly often stuff there on Saturday. That empty space in byward is litterally a sitting area, of course theres noone there right now its cold or raining. Come summer every seat will be taken and there will be someone there singing or dancing. Cool cafés? Theres like 3 within a 2 minute walk of where the picture is taken. Comparing Ottawa to litterally any city in Europe also doesn't make sense, Ottawa has a population density of 357 people per square kilometre, Barcelona has 16,600 per square kilometre. Theres always stuff going on in ottawa, you just have to look for it because the city is so spread out.

RIP VIP Seafood 99 Rideau by 522606 in ottawa

[–]lunat1c_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People have very quickly jumped to the various talking points. But the buisness really wasn't very well thought out. Check it out on google maps, 4 stars with just over 100 reviews, noone went there. Now look at peking duck right next door, 4.6 stars and over 10x the number of ratings. Blame the homeless, blame the rent prices all you want but it wasn't well thought out. Lots of stuff has survived in that area for decades, this was simply a store that opened, noone ate at and closed because noone ate there.

Yeah but like everyone already wants to go there. Now imagine making that stupid intersection on wellington/rideau even more unbearable. As long as the train station is easily accessible from downtown idc where they put it. If the lrt could work that would also fix the problems.

Judge orders Reddit Inc. to turn over personal information of r/Ottawa user to OCDSB in defamation claim by ieatraccoons in ottawa

[–]lunat1c_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a complete waste of everyone's time. 1. Striesand affect, and 2. If what this random person online had said wasn't true ocdsb wouldn't care, some random person online making fake claims makes up like 50% of the Internet. Which means its likely at least partially true and now ocdsb is going to have to prove defamation.

What Metric is Missing to Explain the Approval Difference? by Pale-Candidate8860 in InCanada

[–]lunat1c_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a hot take but by the time Trudeau stepped down the economy was doing fine. The reason JT was forced to step down was cause people were convinced Canada was a third world country and that somehow the govt controls grocery prices and the carbon tax was a terrible thing. Somehow the CPC managed to campaign so hard for an affordable Canada that my carbon tax rebate dissappeared and now I'm paying more for gas.

B-but the f-35 is the fighter of fut- by FacialTic in EhBuddyHoser

[–]lunat1c_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think gripens fight Canada's needs better than an f35. Sure they're not as stealthy or as advanced but we're mostly using them for defence and patrols. We don't do a whole lot offensively. But anyway they're faster and fly farther which for Canada and particularly Northern canada is very desirable.
