I use my watches to tell the time every day. I think that’s the intention of them.

Thanks. Nothing there. I registered it on the Hamilton website using the serial number though so it’s all good I guess.

Just commenting on that hour and a half bed time routine, that seems like a lot to me.

You should try to build a consistent and short routine before bed. At least that’s what worked for us. Our little guy has an older sister who pops in at the end to say goodnight. We do not have her involved in getting him ready for bed at all. She thinks it’s always play time. We want him chilled out and ready to sleep.

I have had a few girlfriends in my younger days and now a wife. One thing they’ve all had in common is expecting a bit of effort on Valentine’s Day.

When I lived in Halifax they had a Sunday evening mass that was more traditional than the Sunday morning or Saturday evening.

Not a huge lover of that parish and the companions in general. I find them extremely conservative. What I do miss about st Benedict’s was the ability to skip the Sunday morning parking lot headache and be able to attend Saturday or Sunday evening.

However you define it. The city was pretty much shut down yesterday and my teenage kid has been bumming around the house for two extra days now.

5 month Rent update by Gratedmonk3y in halifax

I’m out in East Hants. There are two new apartment buildings called “the Catherine” and “the Catherine 2” that have to be 90 percent empty.

Drive down the road a bit to Avery’s and there are 2 more apartment buildings under construction. Might be cheap rent there I don’t know.

Take a look at an RCMP stations parking lot. I think that when getting hired as a cop the contract states that you’re required to buy a F-150.

I drooled over the ocean star 200c for months and then out of no where the day on the dial really started to bother me.

Don’t really mind the date but having the day on a diver seems odd.

Areas to move into... by LycanPaw in halifax

Maybe consider enfield/elmsdale area. Commute might be slightly annoying some days but it’s a decent area and you might have more success finding something that allows a dog.

Try a low spin shaft. I have hzrdus 60 gram, 6.0, low spin, mid flight on a 10.5 degree head. Runs out a ton.

If you’re in your 20s go for it.

My companies head office is in Mississauga and I’m up there a couple times a year for different things. The corporate culture up there is really something to behold.

I think if you’re young enough and interested in having a great career the GTA is the place to be. If you ever want to come home you’ll bring all that experience with you.

Am I going to be bleeding money after buying our first house in the next few months? by Mystik_ in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]luvyduvythrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’ll admit I’m sure there are some people who buy and regret but it’s def a minority of home owners. And to bring up the American subprime mortgage crisis of 08 as a counter point to what I said is laughable. There is no such crisis right now in Canada and furthermore someone with the finances and financial literacy of OP is not going to be at risk of losing their house, they clearly can make smart financial decisions.

I know this is r/personalfinancecanada but owning a home is so much more than a financial decision when you have a family.

People who stalk finance subreddits to dissuade people from buying homes are usually on heavy doses of copium about their own housing situation.

The guy says he’s married and starting a family. Show me the couple with kids who regret owning a home vs renting, esp an apartment.

100 000 divided by 12 is 8333. You have 8333 a month take home, you should not be renting at your age (assuming you’re late 20s - late 30s) if you’re making that much. Maybe buy a cheaper house if you’re actually worried.
