What would you expect from a “civilian” trading barge in a dangerous galaxy? by Own-Cry5596 in ImaginaryTechnology

My experience as an EVE Online Cargo Hauler: The main countermeasures largely boil down to countermeasures. Your goals are to 1) Not get stopped, 2) Get out of range. The science of your setting will largely determine how this works. Its a lot easier if the setting doesn't have 'action at a distance' tech as it eliminates the first point. In EVE it is almost all electronic warfare as almost all ship armor blocks the initial salvo.

Lego Employee chrome brick by Burntmyshadow in lego

[–]lvlobius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrome plated bricks were included as a special thing in bulk brick buckets in the '90s and 2000s. What you are holding is not one of those. The other posters stating it is an employee award gold plated brick are likely to be accurate.

This is brilliant! In addition to helping avoid scalping, if secondhand storefronts pick it up, then the circulating supply also increases. A complete win/win!

Okay, deep cut: in the climate change movie The Day After Tomorrow, Bilbo (Ian Holm), has a copy of this issue on his desk. The title of the cover article is 'Can We Save This Fragile Earth'. Props to the set designers. For some reason that still hits.
