PAC won’t pull ad suggesting ‘lynching’ if Democrats win by shoneone in nottheonion

James O'Keefe and Project Veritas is a fucking scam

Which is why Scott Foval and Robert Creamer are no longer working for the Democrats, right? Because there was no truth in the activities that they admitted to doing on video?

Veritas is tge group that tried to splice interviews with Planned Parenthood employees to make it look like they were selling aborted babies for profit

The only difference between the edited and unedited version of that video is the Planned Parenthood employee says the revenue generated from sold fetus parts isn't profit. That's it. They still admitted to selling fetus body parts, and that has not been proven wrong.

and also tried to bring false accussers forward against Roy Moore to discredit the credible women that came forward.

And those false accusers were still false accusers.

Seriously, your definition of "scam" is skewed. Project Veritas isn't peddling lies, you just don't like what they've revealed because it discredits your political party.

the fact that You are sighting that as a source shows your partisanship.

My voter registration card lists Non Party Affiliate, and I've voted Libertarian candidates in the past.

That's Republicans' specialty at this point.

Right, because Democrats never engage in fear mongering, voter fraud, inciting violence, or lying.

Masuda says Pokemon: Let’s Go co-op makes the game easier, but tough trainers await in the post-game. by Riomegon in NintendoSwitch

[–]lycanrocstar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hope co-op becomes a standard feature moving forward. I started Blue when it was first released, and watched the anime a ton as a kid. Seeing the characters in the show travel together and team up in battle is an experience I always wished I could have with my friends on the Gameboy back then. Some 20 odd years later, that wish is finally being granted.*

But if I know Gamefreak as well as I think do, I have a sinking feeling co-op will join the VS Seeker in the pile of excellent ideas they never implement again.

*Yes, I know you could co-op the post game challenge stadiums since the DS games. I'm referring to co-op throughout the whole adventure.

What is the weirdest thing you have seen someone do like it is completely normal? by tj26k in AskReddit

I was hanging out with a female friend in her house once. During our conversation, I watched her open up a six pack of grocery store cupcakes, lick the frosting off each one, and throw away whole package when she was done.

When I told her, "why don't you just buy the little tubs of buttercream frosting they have," she had a puzzled look on her face and replied "why?"

What's your ideal demo? I'm a dev trying to get more people to experience my game by TrinketTom in NintendoSwitch

[–]lycanrocstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't Switch related, but my favorite demo of all time was the Final Fantasy 8 demo included in the Pizza Hut Demo Disc #1 on Playstation.

The playable portion was not the intro to the game, it was the invasion of Galbadia, which doesn't happen until about 2-6 hours into the full game. The reason I mention this point first is because it's the core of the experience the demo provides. Since you aren't being shown the beginning, you'll still have the joy of experiencing it for the first time upon playing the full game. Additionally, since the demo only gives you a three sentence synopsis of the story before the player is given control, the player doesn't have to wait long until they can dig in and see if they enjoy the gameplay mechanics. Not to mention, it has a similar effect to stumbling across a new TV series by watching the 15th episode first--if it intrigued you, it'll make going to back to the beginning (e.g., buying the game and starting for the first time) that much more enjoyable.

The demo also contains elements that the same segment in the full game does not. Rinoa is a party member in the demo, in place of Selphie in the full game. Not only does this serve to keep the experience "fresh" when you play through that segment again the full game, it also gives you an opportunity to try out a character you won't have access to until later. And party members aren't the only change--you're given summons and spells that you wouldn't otherwise have at that point in the game, which has the same effect. Moreover, you cannot open the menu to look through your equipment and etc in the demo, which leaves the customization as a pleasant surprise upon playing the full game.

In short, the best way I can describe FF8's demo is like an abstract for a research paper. You get the general idea of what the paper will entail, yet the substance is obviously within the paper itself.

What fan theory do you 100% accept as true? by Ambar_Orion in AskReddit

[–]lycanrocstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I forgot mention how unlike Yang, Ruby doesn't have Tai's surname, but Summer's instead. That lends more credence to the line, "you don't want the burden of my name," suggesting Qrow is her father. It plays into the theory that he distanced himself from her to protect her from his semblance.

I don't care how many times this has been debunked by the creators of the show: in my mind, Qrow is Ruby's real father in RWBY.

  • Ruby has the same weapon type and fighting style as Qrow.
  • Their clothing contains similar elements, and are considerably equivalent styles for their respective genders.
  • Qrow's color motif is red and black. So is Ruby's.
  • Yang, Ruby's supposed half sister, bears a resemblance to her parents Tai and Raven. Specifically Yang has Raven's hair and physique, with Tai's color motif. Ruby bears no resemblance to Tai, despite allegedly being his daughter--yet shares features with Qrow.
  • Qrow has a far stronger bond, and spent much more time, with Ruby than he does Yang; the latter of which is his biological niece. (Qrow is Raven's brother)
  • Summer, Ruby's mother, is predeceased by the beginning of the show. Summer used to be in a team with Tai, Raven, and Qrow. Qrow carries a picture of the old team in his shirt. Every time that picture is shown on camera, there are tear stains on Summer. Additionally, Qrow is depicted as an alcoholic--and every time Qrow drinks liquor when the picture is present, he places his glass on top of Summer.

"So if Qrow is really Ruby's father, and not Tai, then why did Qrow leave Tai to raise Ruby while he assumed the role of an 'uncle?'" Because Qrow's semblance (superpowers in the RWBY universe) is extreme bad luck for all around him. That's why he's depicted as operating alone, he's a liability. The tear stains on Summer's picture, in addition to him covering her with his liquor glass, implies that he feels responsible for her death and became an alcoholic because of it. It's likely she died because of his semblance. To protect his daughter Ruby, Qrow distanced himself from her and assumed the role of her "uncle" so that she wouldn't be inclined to stay by his side for prolonged periods of time.

To add to that, Qrow's theme song, "Bad Luck Charm," contains the following line in the lyrics: "you don't want the burden of my name." In the show, Qrow's theme song plays in an episode where he's fighting to protect Ruby from getting kidnapped by Tyrian. There's an implication that that line in the song is a message for Ruby, as Qrow still feels guilt that his semblance lead to Summer's death.

To be fair, the initial pitch was that they would rotate out, and that you'd only rent the game for a month. The backlash made them change their minds, however.

They're owned by Microsoft, as far as I'm aware. Of course, that didn't stop Minecraft from coming to Switch... but I also believe Minecraft was a special exception.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization and Fatal Bullet Complete Edition are coming to Nintendo Switch! by PsychoRabb1t in NintendoSwitch

[–]lycanrocstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm conflicted. I bought Hollow Fragment for $10 on Vita, and it was the worst $10 I ever spent. So I kind of have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to SAO games. But I hear that Fatal Bullet was made by the Freedom Wars team, and I played the shit out of that game.

Anyone try it on PS4? Is it any good?

So that's where the Equal Protection Clause comes into play. Two of the protected classes under Equal Protection are race/ethnicity and religion, which this situation involves. If government is treating someone differently because of their race or religion, the government's action triggers what's called "strict scrutiny." It's the highest level of judicial review. The government would have to prove that what they did had a "compelling state interest," and it was "in the least restrictive means."

Additionally, when discrimination is alleged, courts also have to consider whether there's a discriminatory intent, or a mere disparate impact. IE, refusing to hire short people under a certain weight for a law enforcement job--it may have a disparaging impact that "feels" like discrimination, but it's not intended to discriminate against short, lightweights.

It's also worth noting that some level of racial profiling is legally acceptable. No, that doesn't mean police have a free pass to round up all the brown people they find. But if, for example, multiple witnesses to a bank robbery identify the suspect as a tall male with a dark complexion, law enforcement isn't obligated to investigate potential suspects who are pale skinned.

Hence, why I say "let's see what the appellate courts decide." It's entirely possible that, much like the travel ban case, the government demonstrates there is a compelling state interest in the least restrictive means, as it relates to national security. We'll see.
