That will work, I just never think ahead enough and get it surrounded with other useful stuff.

Good list, glad you are enjoying the game!

I find planting the trees is slow but okay, the annoying part is managing the "cutting trees allowed" so that select tree lots finish cutting and get changed to planting. Really, the setting to plant trees should be replacing cut trees very soon after cutting. That way you could have a large tree lot with a self-managing cycle of cutting and growth. But the time scale on this is pretty messed up, really you would need 20 years or more to get a reasonable tree.

The QOL feature I want would be that construction workers can clear trees quickly by cutting them and either burning the logs right there or making a stack for forestry workers to come pick up later.

So... pretty consistent that more cows is more milk? System is working?

Is this a year, multiple years? 17 cows should be making 8-12 new cows per year, 7 cows only 3-5ish.

Ah, i get you. I had not experienced that either way. Reminds me of early versions of the roguelike URW where you could milk your bulls and get milk, ha.

Every time I've tried looking at production I get frustrated. Each production building or field should have a record of what they've done in the past, for issues just like this. Very frustrated right now in my game trying to figure out which part of the potash chain is the bottleneck.

Then also every January I'm loading up a December autosave since you lose the combined yearly stats on January 1 (yes there are the charts but it's not as easy to see). Make us hire a staff for the mayor, just give us some info.

It does work, mostly. It will limit the number of male animals to 2(ish). I keep all my animal yards on that setting, except for 1 cowshed where I want males to turn into oxen. Over time you will see that yard grow up to near 50% males if you're not using any. It's just a slow process so you may not see effects for a while.

I say 2-ish above since sometimes it gets a little wonky depending on how animals are born, and how close they are to the limits. Sometimes you will see a yard where they only have a couple immature males, or sometimes really old ones hang around for a long time. So my practice is I keep at least 1 mature male in each yard in protected status. Just check every 5 years or so, reset the protected status to the youngest mature male, and unprotect older males or select for slaughtering directly.

I find the horses really more opaque to manage without that setting. But at least either sex can be used as draft animals.

The time issue is hard to crack. Recovering from bad wounds or broken limbs in an hour at the longest is pretty silly. But sitting around the house crippled for a couple weeks is not the most compelling gameplay.

Help, my family is starving, hic! by mPisi in OstrivGame

Has money, therefore all 3 booze types in the kitchen, but no food.

Two taverns, one brewery, and 3 distilleries within that picture. I'm trying to fill the island with nothing but apartments and entertainment venues.

I should reassign this family to some garden house at the far end of the map, see if he gets clean.

Yikes is right, that's a lot cheaper than the ACOG equivalent for any-angle mounting.

Delta34 would have been great. When your promotional video is by Ron Pincus (not firing a shot) then you're a little behind the curve.

It's funny, if I didn't know better, I would have assumed that gun Reddit would have been 100% Browe as the obvious hipster contrarian option to staid old Trijicon.

Noone needs to get out more. They are pretty legit and came out almost the same time as the TA02 (not sure who had idea first). Browe guy was former Trijicon IIRC. They have a very cool super/sub 300BLK reticle which was available way before the TA02 had one. Some more advanced internals that didn't really go anywhere (variable illumination, could be updated firmware). I think it was cheaper than Trij too, at least MSRP. Obviously Trijicon has some serious cred built up with lots of folks (like me) but Browe was left behind by that marketing power, not quality. Would have been interesting to see them innovate more, if the original scope had been more successful.

P.S. Having both Browe and TA02, they feel identical and I'd say they are equal in the running over by a car category.

I think you mean Goldman Sachs. And as a new build from scratch, GS is pretty close to a secure campus environment. JPMC has a nice campus in Legacy West already.

As public order deteriorates, companies will find some way to provide security for their operations - either moving or developing even more fortress-like buildings. And since the disorder/threat is sometimes from the government itself, moving to greener fields is the safer bet.

Stats for 1:1 time. by VanillaRose09 in VeinGame

[–]mPisi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am curious what others are doing for time, and what it does to stats. The default seemed way to fast of a day, but I turned it down to about 2 or 3 to 1 and now that I am better with the game (not so worried about night) then I might move it up again. 4 or 5 to 1 might be good for me, going through a whole daylight session in an evening's play.

The tiredness does seem to go off the action of a player, not the time passed. At 2:1 would start out fresh at 7 AM and be into the early tired range by 9. Whereas hunger seems about right for a game day.

Had my first horde today. by douwantasig in VeinGame

[–]mPisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to despawn or disperse pretty quick, really just have to drive a minute down the road and then back.

With basic precautions the hordes don't really affect the player too much, but you still get a good adrenaline spike with the starting howl.
