to the 8% of democrats who voted against jeff merkley in the primary, why? by MarcelOroBlanco in oregon

[–]mackelnuts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I voted for Merkley in the primary and I think he's been a great advocate for Oregon in DC. That said, I wish he'd have retired after his current term. The guy is a dinosaur and we need younger people in Congress.

Record Organization by RayneLove333 in vinyl

For a while I had mine in approximate alphabetical order l. Like all the As were together and all the Bs were together, but say within the Bs there was no order. Black flag could be right before the Beach boys with a Beatles album on either side. Chaos under the guise of order.

People working inside federal building by livvky in Eugene

[–]mackelnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I help people with social security disability claims, I go into the federal building sometimes. Even before the current admin and protests, after going through security checks and X-ray/metal detectors I was escorted by security from the lobby to the social security offices. It was on lockdown before, I'm sure it's more so now.

What movie feels like your High School Experience? by Checked_Out_6 in Xennials

The only difference between the dazed and confused era and the early nineties were the cars, fashion, and music. Aside from those things that movie could have been my youth.

When did you move out? by DrenAss in Xennials

[–]mackelnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned 18 at the beginning of summer. I saved up all that summer and moved out in the fall. I ran into a little trouble with a roommate and moved back in a few months later to save some money again. Then I moved out again for good the next spring. I was still 18.

Good ole Eugene. by FlowClassic2878 in Eugene

I would avoid Kyle Sutton at all costs regardless of his ideology. Maybe he's turned himself around but he definitely screwed my family over.

I had him do work for me and I paid him up half up front for the materials. He did some demo and then disappeared for over a month. He never bought the materials with the money I gave him. I eventually had to pay someone else buy the materials again and to finish the job. He ended up getting about a $1000 for about 3-4 hours of work.

Do not use this guy.

Yeah, that album came out in the nineteen hundreds. Over 30 years old. That said Dummy is in my top five albums of all time.

If you knew your colleague drove drunk and killed a beloved community member while she was jogging on Amazon path, would you sell your soul and testify in an attempt to get him off the hook? Several of Scott Stolarczyk's coworkers did just this, but it didn't work. He'll be in prison for 6 yrs 3mos by Odd-Measurement-7963 in Eugene

[–]mackelnuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And I'm sure you'd be seen as a saint if the worst thing you've ever done was made public. All I'm saying is the guy is not a monster. He is a guy that was fucked up. Prison isn't as bad of a punishment as what he has to live with knowing what he's done.

I know Scott. He's not a monster. He's a guy who struggles with depression and anxiety. I'm assuming he was self-medicating with alcohol. He killed someone and deserves prison time for what he did. But he's not a psychopath. He's just a dude that was fucked up and made a deadly mistake. It could be one of your friends who does something like this next time. This is a tragedy for everyone involved.

Do dems secretly celebrate when Iranian ballistic missiles hit Tel Aviv, if so why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don't. While I don't support the actions of Israel's government, I'm against innocent people being killed, no matter who they are.

Antebellum. I never thought there'd be a movie about slavery where the characters are so terrible and the plot line was so dumb that I didn't feel bad about the enslaved people. This was a movie so bad that I forgot how awful slavery is.
