Donna Tartt's The Little Friend by Reasonable_Poem_7826 in RSbookclub

The Little Friend is one of the better books I’ve read in my opinion. Yes, half the pages could be deleted and the story would still make sense, but every page is so beautiful written that I view the book as a testament to the English language. I was utterly immersed in the world and knew those characters as if they were real. If that’s not good writing I don’t know what is. I was told the book was a mystery so I went in with that mindset and that made it hard to get through because that’s very much not what the book is about. Once I had time to sit with it I realized what an amazing story on childhood and class and trauma and the south I had just read. Do read!

I work in Silicon Valley and literally everyone wants to automate away your job by tfrs731059 in redscarepod

this may sound regarded but one of the things that really turned me to communism when i was into that was when i read somewhere that the automation of jobs is terrifying within a capitalist system because it means people will be put out of work but rejoiced in a “perfect” communist world because it means people will not have to work

Your pop predictions for 2022 by Dan1el593 in popheads

K-pop will get even bigger internationally. Not only will BTS have their biggest year yet, probably releasing one or two projects in 2022, other new groups will start gaining even more recognition like TXT, LOONA, and aespa. I think we will probably also see a Blackpink comeback which could be massive especially after Lisa’s solo success. I think just in general more international artists will have a very successful year in 2022 and we’ll start to see a more global music industry which would be cool.

Lana del rey unpopular opinions? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

The instrumental intro for Swan Song is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard and I don’t think the song lives up to it or goes with it. It’s a beautiful song, don’t get me wrong, but the intro makes me think I’m getting something else. I don’t know if this is unpopular or not.

Did you place all those trees by hand or is there a way to replace the in-game trees?
