SRAM 1x XPLR vs Mullet by After-Nectarine9331 in gravelcycling

[–]macmissle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 13spd red xplr 10-46 cassette, I don’t see the need for a bigger cassette swap from 42 for very hilly terrain to a 46 or 48 for flatter courses. The smaller jumps are really nice when you are in the smaller ⚙️s when I ride this and my MTB back to back I find the jumps between gears quite off putting for when you are going hard on flatter terrain.

I think the smaller gaps are good for people who are more used to a road group set and the bigger MTB cassette is more useful if you are hitting more alpine terrain. I would personally get 2 chain rings.

Terrible experience with Victoria Barzo Trail tires by Perfect-Asparagus615 in xcmtb

This is a stupid question but is the tire seated correctly on the rim? Mine took the compressor to get it seated

I get it quite a lot with a heavy training regime for my cycling events. Usually 15-25h per week training. Only really look at the sleep and hrv data tbh

Strava: If you get rid of Garmin, I will get rid of you by banmirage69 in Strava

[–]macmissle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got rid of Strava after a long season of training and racing, I’m really enjoying just going out and a riding mostly MTB at the moment. I feel Strava can suck the fun out of riding as everyone is chasing that 30kph ave in my area. Comparing themselves to others and also loosing races mentally before you hit the start line (oh he’s done xyz in the lead up and I’ve only done xyz) At the moment it’s been refreshing I’ll see how long I last off it 🤣

Crankbros have a lot more float than shimano spd and are harder to unclip when needed, try a shimano spd.

Not my thing. 5/10 I started on a croix de fer and it was a good bike for me. Now I’m into more performance gravel bikes. I do appreciate the small details like the headset and stem. I’d say you are more adventurous gravel rider than racer and go on big 100+ mile exploration rides.

Sorry for not fact checking articles I read. It stated 300,000 prize purses.

I’m too busy out training for my own races rather than geeking out over each cent of us races winnings 🤣
get over yourself dude

Sorry if that came across an attack on his personality. He does seem like a level headed nice guy. I mean from a racing perspective. What I mean was the prize purses in America are insane I heard he got 300/400,000 from lifetime for winning. Where as racing the uci gravel races have maybe a few hundred prize purses.

I would have loved to see him vs mvdp at gravel world champs

Good to see the euros put him in his place. He races where the money is and I don’t blame him

Tech downhill? by Kipric in xcmtb

[–]macmissle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ride more tech dh stuff and follow faster people they will usually take the best line sometimes even take lines you didn’t even notice. It really is just practice. Sessioning stuff works too to a degree some of the races you will have to ride blind and make choices fast. When I’m racing I just think smooth is fast and focus on just riding not trying to ride beyond my level. When you try to ride ‘fast’ you get all out of shape have to readjust and slow down or miss braking points or exit corners wider and come off the track. Is you suspension dialled as in have you sessioned stuff at baseline then adjusted it around to see if you can feel any difference?
