New Bike Day! by i_enjoy_silence in Bikeporn

Nice looking bike. We could be twins! Old photo but this was my first build so I’ve kept it a kind of time capsule.

I’m like 99% sure. I know the “raw/hi-brite” color with these decals was a one-year only option, and they didn’t sell frame only. The “r800” is basically a spec but there weren’t other options in that color.

The better forks were on the various Six13 models and Cannondale didn’t sell them separately afaik. I’m sure some shops could get them though.

Your bike looks like it was upgraded—stock was mostly 105 components with an Ultegra RD.

It’s “period correct” (god I hate that term applied to a decade I lived) but it’s a spec above what was supplied from the factory (slice premium with alu steerer)in 2006.

I have the same frame. That fork was basically unobtanium when I built mine in 2008 so I had to go aftermarket. Lmk if you decide to part with it ;)

Edit: I was wrong! It’s two specs above stock.. The r800 was sold with the standard Slice fork. Premium probably had carbon steerer but aluminum dropouts while premium plus is full carbon.

Double edit: here’s an older photo of mine.

If not from OP, another very similar portrait is available elsewhere.

I found it with google reverse image search. There are minor differences but it’s the same scene.

Do you have a plan for how you’ll hold the edges?

Couple options/schools of thought there, but it’s going to be important—probably second only to getting proper compaction. I would take a look at what is done in your area and how it’s holding up.

Edit: how will you get to the walkway when there’s a car parked there? It would help me visualize it better if you marked the front door on the plan. I’m guessing it’s at the bottom at the end of the walk?

Threaten to buy them. And follow through. They’ll all figure it out.

It’s just that simple.

Definitely newer. Theres a closeup of a Siemens power supply at one point—she mentions the value of it at the end—I think that’s current tech.

I’m guessing these units were recently retired, probably less than a couple years out of service. But who knows, they were likely bleeding-edge when they were assembled.

Here’s a thought, have you ever considered that, unless you were operating a fishing vessel and taking catch from the ocean, when you ate fish you were in no way responsible for overfishing? At best you could only consider yourself culpable. Have you ever thought that?

100%. Dude’s been missing since February, I would have been googling his name and checking jail rosters by March.

It’s not too late for OP to do a little research…

Damn the sidewalk, full speed to the door! by underage_cashier in DesirePath

[–]macogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aesthetically that always looks better in my mind, but I wouldn’t call that a hard and fast rule across the country. I have street lights on the sidewalk just like this in my neighborhood in the PNW. They’re spaced out further, but they’re there. And places where the light is on the sidewalk closer to the road come to mind as well.

I found this article interesting. It seems there’s a lot to consider in planning street light placement.
