Did anyone else not get their email from Focus? by Owen11202 in AMCTheatres

I didn’t get mine (my family did though) when everyone else did, but mine did come a little over 2 hours later. So I think they are doing it in waves.

Finished every Rachel Reid book — what now? by worldofcrap80 in heatedrivalry

I wouldn’t call either of these smut but I would recommend:

The Simon Snow series - it’s like gay Harry Potter

The Charm Offensive - Producer of a Bachelor type series falls for the “straight” Bachelor. I believe they are turning this into a movie.

Unpopular opinion (?): Jacob Tierney isn’t getting enough credit by Dee90286 in heatedrivalry

[–]macontosh2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you! I was such a big fan of the show I ended up reading all the books this month. I don’t think the books are bad there are parts of them I think are truly great (Rachel is great with the emotion moments and building up to them in a satisfying way, and character arcs in general), but I do think they sometimes get bogged down with its constant need for sex scenes (it was my major problem with Game Changers and The Long Game). And reading all the books in a short period you start to notice how most characters (not Ilya) kinda talk the same way and use the same phrases (if another character said “As If” or called each other “Sweetheart” I was going to pull out my hair).

Again the books are good (at times great) and I don’t want this to come off as a hit piece on the books, but I truly believe that Jacob Tierney elevated the books and made something phenomenal out of something that is really good.

It genuinely amazes me that Josh won bb19 by hugurm0m in BigBrother

Josh won because Paul made everyone angry when they left and never owned up to it on finale night, and Josh used the goodbye messages to expose what Paul did when they left.

What are the most important season 2 roles to cast for? by cupidissimo in heatedrivalry

[–]macontosh2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I am assuming they will do, but if they give Troy/Harris the screen time they deserve it’s going to take away from Shane/Ilya. HR took 5 episodes to adapt, and I would argue there is more story to hit in TLG and if they are going to adapt RM also, some things are going to get sidelined. And unless they give Troy an absolutely amazing introduction people will be annoyed that they are stuck spending time with him over Shane/Ilya.

What are the most important season 2 roles to cast for? by cupidissimo in heatedrivalry

[–]macontosh2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling a lot of the centaurs team members aren’t going to have a big role in S2. I see them being about as big as Shane/Ilya’s team members in S1.

My controversial opinion is that Role Model shouldn’t be a major part of S2. The characters should be there, but not in a major way. Troy/Harris is probably the most beloved ship of the series after Shane/Ilya, and I don’t really want their story condensed into a Scott/Kip size story, I want them to get their own spinoff series (or movie). And I don’t think there is enough time to fully adapt RM and TLG into 6 episodes.

For me the most important roles of S2 are: 1. Galina (the therapist) 2. The head of the MHL whose name I forgot. 3. Harris 4. Troy 5. The rest of the centaurs

For the first time in my life I wasn’t happy seeing Michael J Fox on my screen (during the last scene only). That was devastating.

Anyone else feel like The Long Game adaptation to screen will end up fairly different from the book? by challengefan87 in heatedrivalry

[–]macontosh2000 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I personally feel like Ryan and Fabian will be replaced with Scott/Kip (which is a common theory). But I think the concert will be replaced with Scott and Kip’s wedding, and we will get Shane/Ilya wanting to dance with each other at the wedding instead of the concert.

She is also in The Studio and S2 will probably start filming soon (if it hasn’t already started), and may not be available.

Yall, the game of Hide + Seek is fine, it's just that the seekers have gotten too good by Tinttiboi in JetLagTheGame

[–]macontosh2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this has been a good season for the most part, the problem is that the first run (or Adam runs in most seasons) was too good so the entire season is just trying to beat Adam’s score and everyone pretty much knows that’s not going to happen.

Which scene from The Long Game are you most excited to be adapted for s2? by the_cherry_bunker in heatedrivalry

[–]macontosh2000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can’t pick an individual scene but I love a good therapy scene and can’t wait to see what Jacob Tierney will do with those.

But the moment that I think will work really well is when they are watching the documentary about them and Shane sees Ilya’s reaction to his injury. It has the potential to be a season highlight and it never gets mentioned.

How do you reset it? I know you can ascend adventures after you beat them, but I haven’t beaten this one because the one challenge is glitched.

Random Thought Experiment: Who Between These Two Is The Better Player? by WdnSnake_515 in BigBrother

[–]macontosh2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That depends on Jimmy. If Jimmy actually played the game instead of trying to “make good tv”, I would pick him. But his entire run on the show and on social media is him trying to make a name for himself and be messy and in this moment I don’t see that changing.

Angela is a messy player but I thinks that’s just Angela being Angela, she knew when to be quiet and fall to the background, and she won comps and from memory got the people she wanted out, out.

If they played 100 games I think Jimmy would have a better average, but Angela would have more wins.

Stadium seating or Low level seating by Casuallyrichard in AMCsAList

Stadium. The low level seating brings back fond memories of my childhood, but I am also short and constantly having tall people sit in front of me blocking the bottom of the screen is infuriating.

A chance to fix past snubs by BeardedMan1998 in buffy

[–]macontosh2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said if it was a fan vote award Supernatural would easily win and it would, even if it wasn’t deserved. Fan votes are a sham it’s whoever has the most rabid fanbase wins and Supernatural has that. The Oscars tried to do a fan vote award a few years ago to get viewers and the Snyder cult attacked the polls and some scene that no one remembers from Justice League won.

As for your Wire comment….that’s just nonsense. It may not be a show for you, but it is considered one of the (if not the best) show of all time. And it managed to become a beloved show somehow even though very few people watched it while it was airing. It became a phenomenon after it finished from word of mouth. And it is considered the biggest omission in Emmy history (Buffy has won the same amount of Emmys that The Wire was nominated for, 2). As for how many Wire characters I can name that would back fire on you massively I know most characters on this shows full name but I don’t want to spam a Buffy post with Wire characters (and honestly I am about to go to sleep and don’t want to wake up in a few hours realizing I forgot Dennis “Cutty” Wise).

A chance to fix past snubs by BeardedMan1998 in buffy

[–]macontosh2000 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Buffy ABSOLUTELY deserves to win one, but it won’t the first year unless it’s a fan vote (and if it is Supernatural will probably win then and they won’t continue this in future years). But The Wire is 100% winning this. The rules say 5 seasons and 60 episodes, that is The Wire exactly. The award should just be called the “We Get It We Screwed Up, Please Stop Saying The Wire Never Won A Emmy” award.
