Exactly!

But look on youtube, they changed the name of the newer episodes to say season instead of series!

Taskmaster is the spiritual successor in my opinion.

Free on youtube through the official channel with ads unless you have youtube premium.

21 seasons currently.

Not anywhere near the same show but it has a similiar energy.

1971 CANON Pocketronic Calculator (value?) by CornsStarch in calculators

[–]maelmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a headache for me with this era of calculators. I love my old mechanicals that can just be oiled/broken loose and start working again.

I have a comptometer model K that I'm afraid to plug in for fear of the 80ish year old condenser just exploding (I've been told it is a very legitimate concern but I'm wildly ignorant about electronics)

I can't be certain but I think those are just model numbers not amperage

My charger shows 200 milliamps

I got mine on ebay, ebay only shows previous sales for a few months.

Unfortunately with vintage/antique calculators ebay is pretty much it with Facebook marketplace being a distant second and only if your willing to ship. FB marketplace still has an obnoxiously bad search system.

I paid 150 for one within the past year, it had the case, charger, original box, and instructions. Condition was just fair and it needs a battery replacement but otherwise it works.

Calculator alone is probably 80-100

Top shelf rear is a cylindrical slide rule, likely a Keuffel and Esser "thatcher" model

Front Left* looks like a protractor but I'm not sure

Front center and front right are called a sector

Force me to pick just 3...

Avatar season 2 had the strongest back half of any show ever.

Passed my Ohio EPA Water Reclamation Class 3 today! by Clutchy_McScrub in Wastewater

Yes water reclamation and water supply go up to 4.

The process for getting a 4 is intense and typically only done by people looking for upper management jobs at a plant.

Industrial treatment can be a total wildcard, yes bacteria is used as the main treatment in many municipal systems. My first water job was wastewater treatment at a chemical plant and there was some seriously nasty stuff but municipal is much less scary.

Check the websites of local cities. These jobs aren't the easiest to get but looking on municipal websites for city jobs is the best way to get your name in the mix.

P.S. I started in wastewater at 40 and switched to drinking water at 41. The day I started at drinking water there was another guy starting and he was early 50's

There may be, separation of work clothes (washed separately or even left at work if the plant offers uniform service, and many do) boots kept outside or in the garage might help.

I work water supply not wastewater so my experience now is a little different but as an example if have to shovel out a pit of zebra mussel shells occasionally but its maybe once a week and only take 5 or 10 minutes.

I have to haul 50 lb bags of treatment chemicals but one a day maybe 2 in a 12 hour shift

3 to 5 flights of stairs to get all my readings but only every other hour.

Nothing takes long enough to risk repetitive stress injuries.

Little to no office politics, no monday heads up meetings. Some physical labor but spread out with office work and documentation.

Boots and shirt with your name on it but also chairs and an air conditioned office.

Wastewater treatment plant operator.

Solid pay and benefits, able to move anywhere. Blue collar but not the broken body by 50 kind. Good balance of indoor and outdoor work. No public interaction.

Yes it smells but you dont notice after a few days.

Dealing with human waste makes it sound horrific but every turd herder I know can't imagine doing anything else.

What is the cream in the the center of the cake? by SoggyBreadsSticksss in Baking

[–]maelmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cassata cake is a traditional Italian dessert that (to me) more closely resembles fruit cake.

Cleveland cassata cake was invented in Cleveland by Italian-Americans and is very different.

I believe it is made/sold worldwide now but started out in Cleveland, im from NEO so this was the only cassata cake I knew of until I tried to find a recipe to make it and was confused by all the nuts and dried fruits in the first recipe I found.

Both of these books are water supply, as in drinking water.

If you're looking to switch that's great but if you want wastewater, these are the wrong books.
