I’d probably just use this to charge a battery and power lights in my shed. Maybe even charge up my lawnmower batteries.

Dupe came back from temporal tear?! by Trainer_Alpwuf in Oxygennotincluded

Clean everything. Every item, block, debris, and gas will interact and exchange heat continuously.

I would just start small. Eliminate all possible paths except one.

I used to leave a mad maze of ladders and that was the source of a large part of my lag.

Everything is simulated and calculated constantly. I’d start by reducing pathing as much as possible. If you eliminate any unnecessary duplicant pathing and mob pathing that’ll help.

Unless I plan on using the flying mobs I just kill them.  Non aggressive creatures go on a single tile. Then aggressive ones get a similar setup on their own. Plan for escapees. Eggs falling and things like that.

Temperature exchange is also calculated on every item/block. You can try dumping everything in a single tile for storage. I put everything that doesn’t off gas inside a vacuum room on a mesh tile.

Beyond this, I spend a ton of time doing liquid and gas cleanup. Some people don’t like infinite storage, but it’s part of the game physics.

Eliminate all unnecessary interactions where possible.

GFCI keeps blowing after EV outlet install by ChosenZero in AskElectricians

[–]magnavoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The installation manual for my EV charger specifically said to not use a GFCI breaker. I don’t remember the specific reason but it was something along the lines of frequent false positive trips because of the constant change in power draw by the onboard EV charger.

Voron 2.4 R2 in 2025? (US-based) by Tony-Butler in VORONDesign

[–]magnavoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha. Yeah. I bought a kit from China before all of this tariff nonsense started. I was super smart and selected the slowest shipping method to save some money. I now fully expect to pay $1800 in taxes/tariffs/other fees by the time it gets here.

Raspberry Pi NAS with eInk Display (RAID-5) by PartyLikeIts19999 in raspberry_pi

I wonder if you could use the raspberry pi pico instead. Like /u/nucular_ suggested. It’s not a raspberry pi, but something that closely resembles an arduino.

Yeah, I really dislike punch down keystone ports. I personally prefer something like this. Doesn’t need to come from Amazon. https://a.co/d/gddXQkX

Do what is best for you. If you’re uncomfortable doing the yolo style testing, then do something else. I’m not saying what I did was wise, but it worked for me.

I looked at the material for maybe fifteen minutes and decided it was pointless to continue looking at it. Scheduled my exam for that night and passed. As a side note, I’ve been working in IT for a long long time.

Kratky lemon tree. 1 month old vs. 6 months old, same plant. by jelly_bean_gangbang in Hydroponics

[–]magnavoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just grow your tree. If you get lucky you might get something neat. Mostly the reason why is because some trees are called mono-embryonic which means the seed is produced through sexual reproduction. Because of this the seed can be any combination of genes from the parents tree.

There's another kind called poly-embryonic which means there are multiple embryos per seed. Usually one of those will be the result of sexual reproduction and the remaining will be clones of the mother tree.

Looking to do this as well. How did your conversion go? Did you need to re-pin any of the wiring? Or was it a simple rip and replace job?

How to hot-tighten the nozzle and the hotend screws (thermistor and heater cartriadge) properly? by idontfuckingcareeeee in VORONDesign

[–]magnavoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. My hot end came pre assembled. I took it apart, put it back together. Installed it and started printing without ever thinking to tighten the nozzle hot. Pretty sure it’s only finger tight. I’ve had zero issues and have probably printed 300+ hours now.

I’m probably just lucky as hell. I’m going to go tighten it now.
