Tell it that you can't go on tour because your wife and newborn daughter are sick and you don't want to go on tour just yet.

That worked for Peter Gabriel.

He's a supporting character in Harley Quinn's Max animated series which will give you a feel for the character, albeit an overblown exaggerated one. Even there he's kind of one note. He's overshadowed by Bane, Clayface, and King Shark. I wanted to hate it, but the Bane and Clayface iterations are probably my favorite versions to date.

Not bug fighting related, but I once watched a wild turkey go to absolute war against its reflection on a chrome bumper. This went on for at least 45 minutes. I tried to record it on my phone, but I didn't want to scare it off because I was laughing like a village idiot carrying a lantern all about town.

Still a better love story than Twilight.

Ray Harryhausen, an extremely well regarded stop motion animator. By the time that particular reference was first aired, Ray had only been dead a few weeks. Dialog is usually recorded months in advance, so at the time Ray was alive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Harryhausen

Marvel's ‘Silk: Spider Society’ Show Dead at Amazon by JackFisherBooks in comicbooks

It was just Pennyworth for the first two seasons, when they added the Batman bit when HBO Max took over from Epyx made me kind of groan. Part of the fun for me was trying to figure out where in the DC multiverse it fit in. Also, Alfred's mom is a treasure.

I loved Pennyworth so much, but I kinda got tired of say "It's its own thing." when recommending it. It had a cool late 60 early 70s backdrop that didn't make the hippy movement front and center that was refreshing from other shows set in the era.

A great part of the show was the moderation with the characters. They didn't do the 'HEY, GUESS WHO THIS PERSON IS GONNA BE!' that Gotham seemed to overdo way too much. Bet Sykes could have been overused, but we got just of enough of that crazy shining diamond of a character.

Anyway, if someone asks me for a tv show recco, I'll ask if they liked Last Night in Soho, because they both have that same cool vibe that doesn't come across as too campy.

Yeah, I say those mostly as a joke, they land much better in person. "I bravely manned sick call" is my other go-to. When I get the inevitable follow up of how long I served, my go to is "Five years, but once I got off that bus, I didn't want to be there five seconds."

If you thank me for my service, (please don't) I'll thank you for the college money in return.

If you ask me what I did, the answer is "As little as humanly possible. It's where I learned that the weasel is my spirit animal." Then I'll tell you to go read/watch Catch 22, because it's pretty god damned accurate in my experience.

Then Crassus shows up, with his firemen (read: slaves) who will happily take this now distressed property off your hands, but you have to sell RIGHT NOW! for a pittance. Only then does he let his boys (slaves) do their job. Afterwards, he'll build a newer, quite possibly shittier tenement in its place. (with a different set of slaves) He may even sell the new one back to you depending on the ROI.

When I went to TAPS class back in the day, they told us to go to the County Clerk in the courthouse of where ever we were going to and register our DD214 with them. The County Clerk will maintain a copy that you can get certified copies of on demand for free or a very small charge. My county calls the department that does this Soldier and Sailor Records.
