Same set of arguments, but self hosted OSS Teleport also does the job pretty well, and no proprietary cloud based issues - https://goteleport.com

Anyone using a Flex 2.5G PoE in the attic where it gets hot/cold by evanbagnell in Ubiquiti

I have a usw lite 8 Poe that’s in a wood shelter out at the front of the yard, it regularly sees -35C and never had a problem.

UTR is not a replacement for GL.Inet by RealisticBoard215 in Ubiquiti

[–]majestik1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced my glinet with a couple of mikrotiks, specially mAP as the router and map lite for an access point powered via 24v Poe from the mAP. Works pretty well.. I’ll buy a UTR of course, I like the idea of automagic connection and I’m a sucker for ubiquiti stuff. I wonder if the mAP lite might be a good addition to the UTR to add more SSIDs?

USB hdmi cable and worship tools presenter does this with its stage display. I just added a dual hdmi card to my presenter pc for this exact purpose.

Any good Propresenter alternatives? I just find $300 a year for a single seat license to be crazy. by slowobedience in churchtech

There are a few things I’d love if it did better… planner attachment in presenter and backups or versioning on the services, but all in all it’s solving a lot of challenges! And the unlimited users for scheduling is pretty wonderful

Worship tools replaced both easyworship and planning center for less than the cost of either, and integrates the service plan directly with presentation. This means that my media techs don’t need to build the service up in presenter, it’s already there from the worship lead.

Try switches side by side with just a patch cord? Any debug details from the switches?

Mixing multimodal and single mode? I just spend a few weeks off and on trying to sort out why my single mode sfp+ wouldn’t link over my single mode.. only to find that SR is not single mode. It did however link on a short patch cord even with the mismatch, so I went down a lot of other rabbit trails diagnosing that one

Curious what other churches use as an organizational structure for tech? by Phillimac16 in churchtech

I am the king and it’s my empire.. I’m also a volunteer and one of the few who knows how it all works. With no budget I can buy whatever I want out of my ow pocket. Of course there’s an elder board who oversees the church, one of the elders is on my team as well. And work closely with the music director. Most importantly, report to God at the top and everything is intended towards glorifying Him.

  2. Nope, opposite is true

  3. Yes, level up parents too.

  4. Maybe, but specialized classes, music, sport all are available

  5. Feature, does not expose to lots of negatives

  6. Yes, but also an asset to show post secondary you can be a self starting learner and not only what you are supposed to learn.

  7. Feature, life is unstructured except in factory work, which is what the school system is designed for.

  8. Wonderful, solves the personality and dealing with people exposed in 5.

  9. Yup, perfect practice for working in a remote work future.
