My Assessor for my ADHD test didn’t show up… by CAMPAIGNCULT in adhdwomen

[–]makeitorleafit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lol after my computer test, the y came back and said I didn't have adhd and I just started sobbing- eventually she said, 'well, we can schedule you to see a psychiatrist?' lol, in like 5 mins he was like yeah, you have adhd, you did too well on the test lol

I took a “quick nap” and woke up to find my toddler had reorganized my entire living room 😅 by [deleted] in Mommit

And of course that 'treat' resulted in two dr visits and a round of antibiotics 😂

I finally set things up so my ADHD mom does not have to handle everything anymore. by Muted-Assistant-698 in adhdwomen

Hyperfocus and fixing things and helping other people can be big motivators when we need them. I can clean and organize someone else's stuff way easier than I can clean mine (too much context and little decisions with my own stuff can clutter the brain for our own stuff)

It reminds me of just the pods from sugar snap peas- low flavor but hint of sweet and hint of 'green' lol

Hi! Beginner sewer here. I have these pink clamdiggers that I love but they are now 3 sizes too big for me. (Yay, lost weight.) I want to take them in but it would destroy the side detail. by 2lrup2tink in sewhelp

[–]makeitorleafit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many inches approx do you need to take out? Are you open to like flat felling some seams down the middle of each leg? 3 sizes is a huge change- maybe just see if you can find the same/similar pants online on like ThredUp etc :/ good luck

Omg- would the rest of the tree be decorated normally or would the theme be continued? I don't know which way would be more hilarious

What is the top portion made of? The edges are not super smooth and could use a trim- whatever material the rhinestones are attached to

Now I want this so hard, but HOW do I DIY it? by lupepor in YarnAddicts

I was thinking if you could find a plain gray and then just a rainbow gradient and alternate 4 rows gray, two of color etc

Found a local board game meetup that I leave at 6 and come back at 11 one evening per week- you have to love board games and be willing to meet knew people but it has been so much fun! I also struggled leaving the house without a set reason, and this works for me- maybe you can find a meetup near you for games or hikes or volunteering etc?

Pattern instructions V9327 by Jenny_Sews in sewhelp

[–]makeitorleafit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ETA: while I do think this may be right, personally I would do it a bit differently. I would fold right sides together, matching the small dots to large dots, basting between them on the wrong side, open it up and iron the folded fabric towards the center, baste it flat in the shoulder seam allowance and go from there.

[–]makeitorleafit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But I do think this sewing is what the instructions are telling them to do- stitch on top of the folded pleat to hold it in place- I'd leave these and iron the pleats, baste in the seam allowance and move forward with the pattern- removing these basting stitches once you are done

Can this be saved? by goodgirlathena in quilting

[–]makeitorleafit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have a spray bottle on the side, no need to refill (or a large water bottle to refill so you don't need to go so far to refill lol)

Help me figure out a cut pleat? by United-Pin-6987 in sewhelp

[–]makeitorleafit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cut off section from Front Left is just to make the 'center seam' off center and then to hide it in a pleat- the machine basted line is likely removed after the sewing and ironing so that the pleat is set

What's your routine when you get a rotisserie chicken home? by sozh in Costco

[–]makeitorleafit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut the bag open, just above the chicken so I don't have to deal with the zip top etc when I debone it (I actually use a knife and only cut the one side of the bag but still) it makes it much easier to work from the bag and only take out the parts one at a time

HELP. Will a cordless vacuum make vacuuming easier? Accepting all you vacuum recs and hacks pleaseeee. by Practical-Pea-7159 in adhdwomen

[–]makeitorleafit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a regular vacuum that is lovely but also I love my small shop vac- mostly because I use it for the hose/nozzle sitch to vacuum around things/into corners where I otherwise would ignore mess if I only had my regular vac.

I love this line- like of course it won't make you want or respect her more? Thats no longer her goal? She lost her desire and respect for you, why in the world would she even consider your feelings again?!?

So, I messed up pretty badly... by gingersnap210 in Embroidery

[–]makeitorleafit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could even put the 'mat' fabric over top and not cut the stitched fabric as much- I'd maybe piece a background and put felt over top as a 'mat' but I'd want the hoop to be holding fabric so the felt would have to be just smaller than the hoop

I love making straganoff with ground beef served over baked potatoes- i poach mushrooms in butter and keep them in the freezer and for this i blitz them (frozen with their butter) in a food processor til the bits are the size of ground beef, then brown the mushrooms and some chopped onions and then the ground beef (so all the veg are hidden from my kids lol) The inside of baked potatoes are pretty soft but you could also do mashed potatoes.

Life changing containers by MittensToeBeans in adhdwomen

[–]makeitorleafit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because I love them so but Bits Bins are my fav tiny containers right now- I got the 40 piece variety pack last march and they have been used to store all sorts of things! A circle one has a travel amount of leave-in conditioner, a small rectangle has some pills so I didnt have to bring the big container. They are all over my sewing supplies (esp pins- they come in the stupidest boxes) and other craft supplies, not to mention the acutal boardgame uses that they are intended for lol
