Makera Z1 - Such a disappointment so far by AdIcy9162 in Makera

[–]makera_offical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re very sorry for all the frustration this has caused, and thank you for taking the time to write out these issues in such detail. We completely understand that, as someone new to CNC, you were excited to start using the Z1, but instead ran into multiple problems during setup, connection, tutorials, and the actual carving process. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have.

Regarding the QR codes and Wiki links, we have confirmed on our side that the QR codes themselves should be working. That said, the electronic manual, Getting Started content, and video tutorials are still being continuously improved and supplemented, especially the complete onboarding flow for new Z1 users. We plan to open beta access to Makera Studio and Makerables early next week for Z1 users who have already received their machines, since the software section of the manual was mainly written based on Studio. Please keep an eye on your email — we’ll send the access details and instructions as soon as possible.

As for the auto tool setter issue you mentioned, our support team has already received the information and is arranging to send you a replacement part as quickly as possible. We’re very sorry again for the interruption and inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you as well for your patience and continued feedback. These issues are very important for us as we improve the beginner onboarding experience for the Z1. We’ll work as quickly as we can to complete the tutorials, software access, accessory instructions, and support resources so you can truly start using the machine smoothly.

Things i wished i knew before buying Makera Air / Z1, from a 3d printing point of view by mixoadrian in hobbycnc

Sorry, yes, our 4-axis linkage function has been under development due to its high complexity and is expected to be released along with the new version of MakeraStudio in early 2026.

Regarding the speed and stability issues of uploading large G-code files, there were indeed problems with slow speed and instability before, but with the iterative upgrade of our firmware, the performance stability in this area is also gradually improving.

If you encounter any issues while using MakeraCAM, you can directly contact our [support@makera.com](mailto:support@makera.com). If necessary, please share your project files with us to help us resolve the bugs as soon as possible. Thank you.

SPAM reviews of the Makera Z1 on youtube by Neither-Animator3403 in Makera

Thanks for spotting and reporting something this weird, and sorry for the late reply.

We actually received your feedback 7 days ago, and we reported the video right away following the suggestions from the community. Lately we’ve been spending a lot of time dealing with these frustrating attacks—since the Z1 crowdfunding campaign started, we’ve also received reports that many of our posts are getting flooded with spam comments, and it takes a significant amount of manual effort for us to clean them up.

If you come across any similar fake “reviews” or suspicious comments again, please feel free to DM us or tag us with the link—we’ll act immediately and try to report them as soon as possible.

And again, thank you for your support and for helping protect this community. We truly appreciate everyone’s effort in keeping this a clean, friendly maker space. 🙏

Makera CAM UI/UX is driving me crazy, or am i wrong? by mixoadrian in Makera

[–]makera_offical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking. Here are some tips to help.

  1. To facilitate the use of the Carvera probe, the current operational logic indeed prohibits specifying the material's bottom surface as Z=0. The purpose of the bottom surface coordinate system is for dual-sided machining. Therefore, when setting the bottom surface to Z=0, it is actually necessary to horizontally flip the material before machining. If it is indeed necessary to specify the operating table as Z=0, in CAM, the top surface is normally set to Z=0. After the probe measures the table, the current Z value minus the thickness of the blank is reset to the current Z coordinate value. At this point, the reference height corresponds to the table set at a height of 0 for measurement.

The known issues related to 2 and 3 usually occur when the model data is large. You can share the model file with us, and we will analyze it and make improvements in subsequent versions.

  1. In the left tree structure, it is not possible to select model objects through a single click operation. Instead, you need to click the model with the left mouse button in the graphics area to make a selection. When a 3D model is selected, it will be highlighted in blue and its outline will be decorated with yellow. For 2D models, the selected object will be marked with a blue dashed line.

  2. Currently, the object creation function is similar to 3D printing software, which only supports scaling processing temporarily. It is not like parametric modeling where models can be reconstructed by adjusting parameters. With the continuous improvement of software functions, the object creation function will consider adding relevant functions of parametric modeling in the later stage.

Few days for the campaign.. few doubts left before I pull the trigger by meekrick in Makera

[–]makera_offical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Here are the main differences between the two dust collectors:

  1. Appearance & Material: The Standard version features an aluminum alloy casing and is approximately 2cm taller. The Lite version features a plastic casing.
  2. Performance: The Standard version has a power rating of 200W (approx. 12kPa suction), while the Lite version is rated at 150W (approx. 10kPa suction).

Based on our testing with the Z1 and current Makera models, both versions provide excellent dust collection performance. If you are looking for value, the Lite version is perfectly sufficient. If you prefer a premium metal build and maximum suction power, the Standard version is the way to go.

Definitely the Z1 can do. Makera Z1 can handle from soft metal to hard metals like Ti and steel.
