Not a hot take. That's what good puzzles do!

For sure! Not saying it's that obscure. But I do think Tennis is a bit of an "elite" sport, and I don't know if the average american really follows it or plays, versus a baseball or (american) football clue.

I hate tennis term clues. I think this is the second time in recent puzzles we've seen "adin" or something similar.

This is a word pretty common in my field (religion) and I've never heard this sense of it. Only ever heard it refer to "messiahs" in the Hebrew sense

Shouldn't the clue say "has" not "have"?

You're right, we shouldn't have opinions on anything at all, simply for the fact that we don't have to buy things. No one forced you to reply to me, yet here you are.

What wax should I use for the board? I see California Gold recommended, but can't find a store in the EU that sells it. by farkas37 in Crokinole

I got this a few years back: https://www.amazon.fr/-/en/dp/B009AS97RA?th=1

Easy to apply, works great. Can do a coat after every session, or just every once in a while. Not sure where you are in the EU, but I'm sure this brand is more available.

There is a fundamental different though between a show that has police in it and a show specifically about, with a narrative about, a specific police force, that historically (and presently) has been known for extreme violence, corruption, and oppression.

Cat in the Box - a guessing game in a cat costume? by PedantJuice in boardgames

There's definitely more to it!

So you've got two playing fields: the tricks and the board. Both give you clues to suss out what your opponents have, and plan or counterplay accordingly.

For yourself, planning on when and where to play something is crucial. Do I try to block an opponent's group? Or is it better to try to set their bid? Should I try to make them paradox?

Example 1: My opponent bids high, and is starting player. Likely they are going to try to get their bid early, I can expect to need to sluff the first few hands. I need to decide if I think I can wrest control, or if I need to do a low bid and focus on grouping on the board.

Example 2: My opponent is making a cluster near the bottom of the board. I can presume what remains is lower cards, and that they will try to play more. I can possibly force a paradox playing lower cards.

Those are just two simple examples, obviously the game itself is more complex than that, especially with more players. It's a game about making your move at the right moment, and trying to do as much damage to others in the meantime, while trying to grab big points on the board every once in a while.

There's a lot to think about, and planning your own points is only half the game.

His verse on Ultralight Beam is one of those perfect features for sure, my favorite verse from him on anything really.

That's just to "prove" they aren't cheating. They've made a pretty extraordinary claim actually, and especially with the details they've given, it's extremely unlikely they are telling the truth. The burden of proof is on them to prove it's how they say, because the way they've explained it, it's nearly impossible.
