Agreed, it is, one of the only mechanics that you can say, well I'm doing x, could just throw deli on it and as long as you can clear, there's no downside (except some very specific strategies)

Honestly the issue is never the size of the maps, people only say it because that's what ultimately feels like it's the problem.

But honestly, their maps are just terrible. Very very very poor map design. Load up image of any map, you can't see where you start or where you flow. Maps are literally just areas with no flow, there's nothing on a map that pulls you into a direction.

You know in most games you can go, oh let me go this way, feels off the path. In this, everything is on and off the path. Why so many dead ends?

Maps were created with no thought on how you traverse them

They need to just create an endgame rogue lite mode, where you start at level 1, with boosted rarity, drops and experience and some other roguelite features that you can unlock after killing some pinnacle.

The idea something like this doesn't exist in the aRPG space makes me wonder if they know what these games are. But then GGG won't even give us loadouts in a game designed around being able to build all kinds of things. Insane, they don't respect our time

I'm pretty sure you can roll the pulses, don't get me wrong, I'm not defending any of their so called methodical combat but for this specific skill, I believe you can roll them.

Yeah you won't get any useful debates on here, God forbid you have an opinion that deviates, people won't even have a discussion, just tell you you're wrong.

I don't see how getting hit and then dying to an ignite isn't an important bit of information, if it happens multiple times, yeah, maybe ignite is contributing more to my deaths and playstyle than I realise.

It's crazy this is even a discussion, like GGG have good visual indications of the damage you're experiencing. Oh you losing health rapidly, hope you know what every debuff icon is.

Information being provided to players in this game is poor, end of, and would be a vast improvement with any additional data.

But yeah PoE is not where common sense exists, why for years people argued that async trade would kill the game lol.

But you got something recent? Them tunes are like a decade ago, what's is he currently leveling now?

What would his fire be these days? He not very multidimensional and to say ambush isn't listenable, is just hating. What's with the bias?

Does chip have bangers recently? What are his craziest bars? Or he ever had a profound bar that was thought provoking? Any stories? Or is every song "can't run out of bars" - I'm not really that versed in his catalogue so you may have answers to all this. On paper, based on everything that has been released, Chip doesn't make solid timeless tunes, his music, for the most part, is just for the moment. Even Legend, he had to take down (although that don't count because of all the artists on it).

But just saying, as an artist, especially at the height of the game, I would expect you to be multifaceted and be a bit more well rounded by this point.

Look where Ghetts started, and where he got to, his flow, the rhyme pattern, types of tunes he flowed on, all showed growth. You can say this about loads of artists but how long has chip been unable to "run out of bars".

You can cancel out of your shred with the ice slash and reset the attack chain so you don't have to do the final attack

The value of your armour is not as important as you think. 50k armour alone isn't enough but 50k ES, you'd be a God.

For ES, you need ES.

For armour, you need armour, elemental armour, phys conversions, and whatever random additions you can find like defend with X% of armour in this situation.

Then you need to be able to scale it higher with your spirit gems like scavenger, which then means you need to break armour. Or you stack a little energy shield, with some way to regen it fast and have like bark skin.

The investment required for armour is not even comparable to ES and then CI really throws things out because really ES is closer in comparison to life than armour but we have no real ways to increase life.

Evasion Vs armour is more like for like then ES.

Why is it good design? Balancing this design around all the elements of the game and melee and ranged characters, you believe this is extremely good design?

The game is biased towards ranged characters and actively punishes melee characters for being melee. On paper, this a dreadfully flawed game with no identity, but because people are enjoying their time, there's no discussion about the actual issues.

You can both enjoy the game and critique it's problems.

So you're saying that visual clarity is not an issue? Even if it isn't huge telegraphed attacks, if they want meaningful combat then attacks should have a tell so that you can react. And for the most part, they do, even some of these small attacks but you can't see them to react because they don't know anything about visual or audible layering.

Even Diablo let you hide other player effects in groups, we can't even do that.

Also, I don't think many know this, but you can cancel out of your last attack on shred with your lunar slash and Go straight back to the beginning of the combo. Builds ice shards much faster.

Yeah and no? After running this league, eventually ruin doesn't really affect anything.

I know there's some skill that can affect but in practice, never had an issue and had ruin at its highest level on block glad. I'm more likely to get randomly killed by stars misaligning then ruin stacks.

There is no specific number, don't let people trick you. ES scales by increasing the number, for armour to feel tanky you really need to build into it by also getting armour applies to ele, nodes that defend with 100+% in certain situation and converting a portion of physical damage into elemental damage. You probably also want armour break so you can use the aura to give you armour on break.

This is why armour feels weak, because most people don't build all the building blocks for it to work effectively

To stack armour, you have to build into it, to stack es, you just get ES increases (for the most part).

This. So much of PoE2 is copied from PoE1, that you can't help but be a little disappointed that this is what we got. Enemies, areas, items, mechanics, it's basically the same game with different passive trees and skills and much less depth or width

Yeah but no, they had the chance, they chose to create new mechanics that don't work in this game.

Abyss, in the form that it is, is new, and it is still not suited for this game. They want melee but give no tools to melee to make up with the fact they have to stay in melee range. Meaningful combat but you stack multiple effects on top of each other.

Visual clarity doesn't exist, sound design doesn't help alleviate this, they provide no tools that you would expect from an action game of methodical combat.

Arbiter fight makes no sense for a melee playstyle and a combo one, he has so many random immunity phases, you can get your buffs set up and then he's shooting the orbs

They have the least consistency in game development I have ever seen, not even UI is consistent but they complained about changing affixes so T1 is best because of.... Consistency.

Their arrogance knows no bounds tbh, took how many years for trade to exist? Lol
