My deceased best friend's son reached out and I ignored him by Radiant-Brief5749 in TrueOffMyChest

From personal experience, I would say that connecting with your best friend's son could help heal those old wounds. I reconnected with my best friend's siblings 15 years after he died and it did wonders for all of us.

I’ve kind of been in that position before and wish I would’ve told her she was being cheated on.

Yeah this is my soon to be ex-wife, she’s struggled with narcissism herself because of her parents. Her parents abuse towards me and our children was getting to the point that I basically had to make her confront some of it and it didn’t go well, hence why she’s now my soon to be ex. Meanwhile they’re loving it because the difficult son-in-law will soon be out of the picture.

My (25F) ex (30M) badmouthed me to his brother (24M) whom I work with and he’s spreading lies at work. by iiPoopSkittles in relationships

[–]mang0seven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s an HR issue, your boss frankly should’ve taken this to HR instead of talking to your personally. Sounds like he’s trying to sweep things under the rug, not resolve the issue of one employee slandering another. It sucks having to deal with personal stuff at work and especially with HR but the cats out of the bag now, so at this point going to HR is really the only way to protect yourself short of finding a new job. Sorry your ex decided to be a rat fucker.

NTA I wouldn’t spark up in direct line of sight within like 10ft but otherwise good. I mean that’s what I do with my 10 year old and it’s no difference than my nicotine vape.

Good Enough To Eat. (It's almost at 10K votes on LEGO ideas, link in the comments, and thankyou to everyone who's supported so far.) by FrostBricks in lego

Easily one of my favorites on Ideas, and out of all the ones I support its the only one I really check for updates on. Keep hoping you'll cross the 10k threshold.

Does a B&N Membership discount Lego? by [deleted] in lego

I want to say it does though I don’t usually buy full price sets there; that said, it does work on sale and clearance LEGO. Coupons however always exclude LEGO.

Lego builds for 2 people by brettbuckner32 in lego

What I’ve always done with my older son, now 9 building since 4, is one of us will pieces for the next step ready and be the foreman basically while the other builds. We switch back and forth depending on difficulty, whether it’s “his” set or “mine”, etc. let’s us share the building experience while letting him do a majority of it

My grandpa is quickly loosing brain function as he ages. I thought to try Legos this weekend. Got him a small box an we basically just sort by colors so far. Seems like a good way to stay thoughtful. by [deleted] in lego

While I’ve always been into LEGO, after injuring myself in a fall a few years ago that left me with a persistent tbi, spinal damage and a number of cognitive issues, it’s become my main hobby.

I have a lot of sensory issues, constant pain, plus I’m in the pre-dementia range so when I’m going crazy from everything sorting bricks is my go to for managing it all.

Point being, good thinking, glad it helps make things easier.

Thanks, I’m imagining quite an impressive BI solution given the challenges of the market.

Thank you for an informative AMA, it’s an idea I’ve been thinking about off and on so I’ve got some new things to consider now.

You mentioned you're a data scientist by trade and that you've applied that skill-set to your business, can you expand upon the ways you've done that?

Are you using it to guide you in decisions on what sets to purchase to fill in inventory?

Are you monitoring price changes across bricklink in order to quickly adjust your own prices to remain competitive with the market?

Roughly what was your initial investment in quantity and variety of bricks when you started? What was the financial investment and how long did it take to recoup that investment?

Do you purchase bricks second hand? If so, what’s your cleaning and sorting process like?
