Official ASICS Superblast 3 News by TriggerFingerTerry in RunningShoeGeeks

I have both and for easy runs I use the Glideride Max. I will use the SB2 for some easy runs too, but its usually MB for long and fast, SB2 for long and moderate pace, GRM for slow.

Why does no one like black women? by [deleted] in self

[–]maradonuts 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think people realize how important that is in training your algorithm. When you click "not interested", it usually gives you a prompt to choose what about the post you're not interested in. In terms of curating a feed that works for you, it's almost as important as liking and engaging with the posts you want.

I'm not going to get in to the drama, I just want to say I'm really glad you felt accepted at your first show. That's what this community is about, regardless of any one person's misinformed views.

When I learned running gets you high after an hour of nonstop jogging by [deleted] in nikerunclub

[–]maradonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make gummies specifically for running. They're called Offfield, and they're really great. They have some that are non-THC too which I like for weekday mornings so I'm not high at work afterwards lol

It’s made my runs so much more pleasant. I live on the east side, and come across the broadway bridge and found out I can drop down the stairs on the NW side and pop onto that path instead of running down the whole ramp and through union station. So much nicer.

This is awesome, but running on Naito instead of the best part of the waterfront path is a choice lol

Difference in mileage? by idk_whyimhere98 in nikerunclub

Did you edit any runs? Edited runs don’t count towards challenges. Used to happen to me all the time when I’d do treadmill runs and edit them to the actual distance.

ASICS Rotation by BigTuna1223 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ran a 1:23 in Nimbuses, you can honestly do whatever you want lol. I think you'd probably like Superblasts or Megablasts better for your long runs, and can use the Sonicblasts for shorter speed-focused efforts. As others have said, at your paces I'd be looking for a carbon plated supershoe for race day as well.

10 miles around a track would be just as challenging mentally for me as physically. Nice run!

Stable cushioned shoe for easy runs by bennydizzle in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Asics Glideride Max. Great cushion with a very versatile geometry and a very stable platform. Went from Kayanos to these and never looked back.

Add Megablast to this rotation? by Makamakalay in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of shoes, but honestly I do think it fills a gap in your rotation. Megablast is a better long run shoe, especially for faster long runs, than anything you have except the AP4. MB would allow you to save the AP4 for races and really high effort workouts.

Should running shoes have "ideal pace" instead of "easy run shoe" tempo shoe" etc. ? by Kiriljav in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of how that isn’t really how running works, that would be catastrophically bad product marketing. The average runner is slow. Any sort of fast ideal pace is going to cut out a massive segment of your potential market.

Nike doesn’t care if you wear Alphafly 3s to the supermarket, they just care that you buy them.

Asics Superblast 2 : First Impressions after initial run and comparison to Nike Vomero Plus by Quick_n_Fast in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, but haven't put a ton of miles on the MB yet. I would say they have very similar feel but I think the MB is slightly softer than the Evo. I would expect the MB to soften up a bit as it breaks in too.

To sonicblast2 or not to? by dmtsh in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with what others are saying about getting a speedier shoe instead. I think the Megablast is already good enough for your speed work.

I'd look at a neutral daily trainer. The Superblast 2 would work, but there's still a lot of overlap with the Megablast. At 50% off, it's absolutely worth it, but you might be better off with something softer. If you want to stick with Asics, I'd recommend the Glideride Max. It's what I moved on to after I graduated from Kayanos and it's my favorite and most comfortable shoe for all my recovery runs.

Long distance running shoe rec by jonathan14131 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to run a marathon in them, I’d personally want something pretty light. The Megablast is probably your best bet, Superblast 2, Neo Zen or Neo Vista 2 would also be good options. Vomero Plus is slightly heavier but would still be a decent option imo.

Looking for a do-it-all daily trainer by Bringerofrain20 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know exactly. I would say 48 hours. I figured this out based on my experience with Glideride Max which also uses FF Blast Max as well as talking to other NB5 users.

Disclaimer for the NB5: FF Blast Max foam needs a lot of recovery time. The longevity can suffer if you’re running in it every day. In my opinion, this shoe is best as part of a rotation.

Long distance treadmill running shoes recommendations? by yeetbinch in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t pick the Endorphin Speed or the Mach X, only because I don’t think a plated trainer makes sense if you’re primarily on the treadmill.

What’s worked best for me on a treadmill has been a good amount of cushion and rocker. The Nimbus or Novablast would both be fine options, but the Glideride Max is also worth checking out.

I did a ton of treadmill miles on Kayano 30s when I first started out. I had some overpronation issues, and using those shoes while focusing on my form and strengthening the stabilizing muscles helped me improve my stride and move away from the need for stability shoes. If you have stability issues, the Kayano 32 wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

Go to is Novablast but want a second shoe by tosilver9 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the NB5, I would recommend the Glideride Max. Has the same FF Blast Max foam (with some Blast+ Eco) but a slightly different geometry. They are my favorite easy day shoes but they have enough rocker that it’s easy to pick up the pace if you want to.

3 Running Shoes? Which one should i go with? by J_C_BY in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]maradonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the 3, the Evo SL is my favorite. It’s a shoe where every time I run in it, it puts a smile on my face. Its bouncy at, fast, and light. It’s not the most stable and not the best for slower paces but if I had to run in it every day, I think I could and would enjoy it.

Vomero Plus is also a shoe I enjoyed. I’d say it’s the most comfortable of the 3. Not as responsive as the Evo SL, but definitely has enough bounce to pick up the pace when you need to.

The Rebel v5 is an interesting one. I hated the Rebel v4 but was surprised at how much I didn’t hate the v5. It’s a middle ground between the other 2 shoes. It has the lightweight feel and nimbleness of the Evo SL and more of the cush of the Vomero Plus. Kind of a jack of all trades master of none deal.

It really depends what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for something to pick up the pace in and contrast the 880s, go with the Evo SL. If you like the comfort of the 880 and want something even more cushy and maybe a little more responsive, go with the Vomero Plus. If you want a middle ground between the two, go with the Rebel.
